Job description

As a Yield Analyst at Engine by MoneyLion, you will be an integral part of our mission to drive growth and profitability through data-driven insights and strategies. Our Yield Analysts are at the forefront of this mission, playing a pivotal role in optimizing revenue across various financial products and channels. If you are passionate about making an impact in the financial sector and thrive on uncovering hidden opportunities, we encourage you to join our team.

This role requires familiarity with hands-on data analysis, as well as documentation and experience supporting data operations. You will work closely and collaborate with other members of the Yield Analytics function in order to deliver successful business outcomes, mainly supporting our Revenue team.

Day to Day:

● Utilize advanced analytics and forecasting models to predict future yield trends and recommend and take proactive strategy adjustments alongside Partner Solutions.
● Actively monitor dashboard for partner performance and report daily/weekly updates and insights, discerning trends, risks, and opportunities. Based on these observations, develop recommendations and strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on emerging trends.
● Develop pricing and optimization strategies to maximize revenue while staying competitive. This involves adjusting prices and contracts dynamically based on Supply and Demand, competitor pricing, and market conditions.
● Regularly review the performance of implemented strategies, adjusting and optimizing as necessary to ensure progress towards established goals.
● Develop an in-depth understanding of Engine by MoneyLion’s offerings and various consumer flows in order to analyze and construct sizing models.
● Exercise advanced proficiency in Excel/SQL and Looker (or similar BI tools) to quickly produce ad hoc analyses and planned dashboards for real-time insights into company and customer performance.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams by providing data-driven answers to inquiries and data requests via Slack and JIRA as part of the on-call support process.
● Explore ways to automate manual data-related projects such as manual processing needs on Yield Analytics.
● Foster and maintain strong working relationships with internal business partners (Partner Solutions, Business Development, Leadership)
● Join a high performing team of analysts working on strategic initiatives including financial/data modeling, data infrastructure, investigative analytics, and financial optimization.

Proficiencies:
● Highly preferred
o Previous experience with Looker and LookML a plus (or similar BI tool).
o Strong interest in financial services markets, technology, or business side problems (e.g. an accounting or finance background) and in making data-driven
recommendations.
o Active and curious listening skills; always interested in digging deeper to find the optimal solution.
o Understanding of the tradeoff between perfection and execution. You will need to balance data-driven decision making with the rapid delivery of projects within tight time constraints.
o Creative problem solving and challenging the norm.

Core competencies:
o 3+ years of experience in an analytical role with data analysis (SQL, Excel, LookML).
o Excellent ability to understand data models and data concepts.
o Data-driven instincts. You will support all recommendations and conclusions with substantial research and data.
o Attention to detail.
o Time management skills.
o Ability to produce visualizations of data to clearly communicate ideas.
o Strong teamwork (BI is a central data hub for all departments at Engine, which means exposure to product, engineering, revenue, and operations/finance).
o A team player - highly collaborative and service oriented. When the team wins, we all win!
