Account & Business Development Manager, D/A/CH

Remote working role in the Frankfurt and/or Cologne region

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Country Manager, D/A/CH, you will be responsible for the strategic development of key clients. Including retaining and extending the client contract, building a wide, deep network of client contacts, delivering the annual operating plan and identifying and delivering growth opportunities, day to day management of the client, delivery of our service obligations and working with key functional areas to enhance the customer experience. You will also support the profitable growth of the client, the delivery of the plan and identification of new business opportunities.

You will also participate in client onboarding, program design, local implementation of Assurant’s global trade-in tools and ongoing client management of Assurant’s trade-in programs. This role is also responsible identifying and executing revenue-generating initiatives with existing clients. 

This role contributes to Assurant’s success by performing these functions in a timely, professional, effective manner and plays a central role in cross-functional prioritization of product and engineering resources to ensure program execution that meets our revenue targets. 

  • Work alongside the Account Director and liaise with key stakeholders across multiple internal functions and client stakeholder groups to create the annual client plan, ensuring stakeholders are aligned during delivery of this plan

  • Contribute to the creation of and delivery of client P&L as well as identifying and delivering new business opportunities to drive incremental value

  • Responsible for the sustainable growth of the business by increasing revenue year over year

  • Work closely with the executive team of Assurant Germany and Assurant Europe Team to develop growth strategies for new revenue and competitive opportunities

  • Partner with product and marketing teams to develop and manage customer strategies, plans to attract new business and grow existing accounts

  • Provide consumer, market, and competitor insights to wider leadership team to influence regional strategy

  • Continuously develop, refine, and articulate value propositions and differentiated positioning

  • Develop the reputation of Assurant in the market as a strategic partner to its clients and a thought leader in the trade-in market

  • Build effective and strategic client relationships, positioning Assurant as a trusted advisor and be responsible for day-to-day management of the client account

  • Contribute towards the commercial management, development and delivery of client plans – being specifically responsible for key accounts including Germany, Austria & Switzerland

  • Lead and where needed support the Account Director in the delivery of specific goals within client plan

  • Maintain oversight of the contracted service to the client, quickly Identifying and resolving issues which may arise with customer experience via analysis of customer feedback, root cause analysis of complaints and deliver an action plan to remediate and removing points of friction through driving continuous improvement 

You Will Have:

  • German native language is essential with a fluency in English
  • Degree in business, finance, marketing, general management, or equivalent experience (Masters preferred)
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic new business development strategies and business plans
  • Strong record of winning new business, onboarding new business, and managing the ongoing P&L of client programs
  • Experience as a business development executive, Account Manager or other relevant role
  • Experience sales or marketing and managing relationships with essential clients
  • Strong analytical and financial skillset including the ability to analyse data to translate market insight from internal and external sources into powerful insight. Strong modeling and scenario planning skills.
  • A deep understanding of a wide range of technology
  • Preference to have industry experience within financial services, insurance or telecommunications
