V2X Is seeking an experience Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO).

Responsibilities

  • Research, verify and document information security controls in order for the DRSN Switch to be accredited.
  • Communicate and enforce security policies, procedures and safeguards for the Vaihingen DRSN Red Enclave.
  • Analyze and advise on the risk and remediation of security issues.
  • Initiate, coordinate and track the patching and remediation of security weaknesses as they are discovered.
  • Report on security status and security incidents.
  • Conduct Security Authorization document reviews.
  • Utilize Xacta on JWICS to compile authorization packages and achieve Approval to Operate (ATO).
  • Assist the Government ISSM in maintaining all configurations, architecture, installed software, accounts, and other relevant data for the DRSN Switch and connected equipment.
  • Act as the single point of contact for all security issues relating to the switch facility, maintain an active communication dialogue with the DISA RED Switch Security Manager (SM), and be the liaison between the O&M organization and the SM for all security matters.
  • Develop the security plan for the switch and oversee its implementation.
  • Develop and implement the switch-node security plan to control the modification or replacement of system hardware, software, firmware, or database contents that affect systems security features as well as any other changes involving granting or removing SCI access to a subscriber terminal.
  • Control installation or relocation of subscriber terminals.
  • Provide Information Assurance (IA) for the Vaihingen DRSN switch and connected equipment in the Red Enclave.
  • Ensure locations geographically separated from the switch maintain the level of security commensurate with the classification of service provided. In coordination with the Special Security Officer (SSO) responsible to the DISA Security Manager (SM) for RED switch security throughout the lifecycle of the system, in particular, identifying any irregularities or insecurities that may affect the switch.
  • Responsible for configuration control of the DRSN RED Switch database files.
  • Ensure proper assignment of security compartment level and terminal identifier to each DRSN terminal access line and switch cryptographic interface.
  • Ensure accurate database update upon completion of installation, deinstallation, or modification of network or tactical trunks and modify site layout and circuit diagrams and equipment inventory records, as necessary. Upon Joint Staff approval, add or delete FLASH or FLASH OVERRIDE classmark to/from subscriber’s SDN definition.
  • Ensure accurate implementation of DISA direction to modify switch database for routing, numbering (NNXs), or SAL changes (upload of new ROUVAL, DIGVAL, or SALVAL into switch database), SDN, interface, or board definitions and report changes made to DISA. Establish procedures for changing passwords on DRSN switch administration and maintenance consoles and enable codes on DRSN instruments.
  • Assist the SSO with SCIF accreditation and the ISSM with obtaining Switch ATO and managing via a Plan of Actions and Milestones (POAM) the ATO for the full life-cycle of the Switch.
  • Perform functions as the IMO for the Vaihingen site(s).
  • Ensure computers are updated IAW NEC-S guidelineS.
  • Ensure accounts are created and managed IAW NEC-S guidelines.
  • Baseline computers as required.
  • Prepare Data Transfer Agent (DTA) packets for processing through Battalion CSD.
  • Build accounts in Active Directory for users and equipment. Unlock/lock accounts as needed.
  • Liaison between DRSN/TCF and the NEC-S.
  • Manage ATCTS for the site(s) and overall OPMAS-E bucket. Track Annual Cyber Training and AUP requirements.
  • Process 2875s for OPMAS-E as the ISSO.
  • Monitors/tracks all DRSN personnel certification requirements. Ensure information is updated on the WAR.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements

  • The individual shall have a minimum of five (5) years of specialized experience in providing Information Assurance for and obtaining ATO for DoD SCI IT systems.

Skills:

  • Current knowledge and continuous experience in the field of information and telecommunications systems and managing switching, transmission, and data networks.
  • Demonstrates proven expertise in the operations and maintenance support management of multiple complex systems.
  • Familiar with and demonstrated experience working in a SCIF.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license to operate light non-tactical vehicles (sedans and mini-vans) in Germany. An International Driver’s License is desired.
  • Must be Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking the English language, to include the ability to comprehend and interpret complex electronic and technical data, schematics, and logic diagrams
  • Desired: Experience with the Xacta application and utilizing a JWICS account desired. Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology (IT) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF) also desired.

Certifications:

  • Candidates MUST be currently qualified under AR 25-2 and DoD Instruction 8750 for elevated privileges on DoD/Army Networks. A current Security+, CAP, CASP CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), or GSLC Certification in good standing is required. DRSN Certification or 6 months OJT.

Security Clearance:

  • Current U.S. Top Secret clearance is required
