Job description

You as part of tonies:
Are you passionate about inspiring parents to provide screen-free (and guilt-free) edutainment to children? If so, read on! We are looking for a Senior Digital Product Designer (all genders) to shape the connected experience in the mytonies app for ios & android. Specifically you will help families setup the Toniebox, configure for best utility, manage their collection and customize their listening experience by generating their own playlists and content. You will be responsible for designing experiences that allow parents to configure Tonieboxes, developing and executing strategies to increase value through play and drive our north star metric. This role requires a deep understanding of user behavior, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of driving successful engagement initiatives.

In this role you will be ultimately responsible for the overall usability & design of a product in a customer-facing product team. You will need to find a balance between our user's needs, business goals and technology constraints. You will drive it both with the central team with whom you will directly cooperate, as well as by advocating for stakeholders and users' needs from the regional teams.
Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
  • Design Strategy: Shape the UX strategy aligned with product strategy and business objectives by defining Information Architecture, hierarchy, and messaging for your product area, while closely collaborating with User Researcher and Data Analyst on complex research topics.
  • Interaction Design: Develop high-complexity concepts and manage product-level projects with a mobile-first approach, leading Universal Design efforts by emphasizing Accessibility, Inclusion, and design excellence.
  • Visual Design: Use the design system to translate concepts into designs for validation and development, and contribute to the evolution and maintenance of the design system.
  • Customer Insights: Represent the customer's voice in usability, UX, technology, and data security decisions, using data analysis, testing feedback, and UX metrics to validate concepts and inform decisions.
  • Influencing Outcomes: Define Key Results (KRs) and drive tactics using design expertise, shape experiments with your team, interpret results to guide design decisions, and collaborate seamlessly with Product and Engineering counterparts, ensuring alignment with Designers and Researchers.
What we are looking for:
  • You are passionate about building digital and connected products as a mobile-first Product Designer or UX Designer, with at least 5 years of experience in UX, UI, and User Research for high traffic products (~1Mn MAU).
  • Proven track record in product design, delivering impactful solutions that meet user needs and business goals, with a customer-centric approach and experience in running qualitative user research independently and with dedicated product researchers.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, effectively partnering with cross-functional teams, and a strategic thinker who can translate product strategy into actionable design strategies.
  • Expertise in interaction design, capable of conceptualizing and executing high-complexity mobile concepts, and passionate about Universal Design principles, promoting Accessibility, Inclusion, and design excellence.
  • Proficient in visual design, experienced in contributing to design systems.
  • Nice to have: Strong experience with IoT/Consumer electronics products and/or digital products for children.
