This is a remote position.

Job Role:


Purpose of role: Support the creation of requirements to support the execution of roadmap initiatives. Day-today support of the product development lifecycle by gathering and refining requirements, assisting in managing the product backlog, and ensuring clear communication between stakeholders and cross-functional development teams to ensure requirements are clearly understand from build through to release

Collaborating with Product Managers & Product Owners to refine the backlog and ensure that scope creep is identified early and action is taken to support business needs.

Team: This role is within the Product Innovation Team and is part of the Product Management department.

Work arrangement:

Because we are more interested in what you bring to our team than where you are located, you can work from anywhere. International travel will be required from time to time.

  • Supporting the execution of roadmap initiatives within the agile framework, including day-to-day management of the backlog and clear requirements that match stakeholder needs:
    • Clear Requirements — Creation of both user and functional requirements to breakdown roadmap initiatives into epic and user stories alongside clear "Acceptance Criteria" to ensure understanding from the Dev and QA teams.
    •  Stakeholder Engagement — Engage with internal & external stakeholders to gather feedback and confirm requirements before build, with follow ups post-release.
    •  Backlog Refinement — Collaborate with the Product Owner & Product Manager to prioritise the backlog items to ensure strategy alongside roadmap and capacity plan
    • Agile Ceremonies — Active participation in regular meetings with the development teams to ensure smooth coordination with the development team and project progress.
    • Domain Knowledge — Maintain a good level of domain knowledge
    • Release Testing — Work with the Dev & QA team to ensure that product features meet the agreed-upon requirements and quality standards before release.
    • Product Documentation - Assist in the creation and maintenance of product documentation, such as user guides, feature specifications, and release notes.
  • Supporting the Product Managers in the roadmap strategy:
    • Product Discovery — Understands the value proposition of products within domain and can articulate the problems solved.
    • Research & Development — Support in conducting user research, market analysis, and competitive analysis to inform product decisions
    • Product Go-To-Market — Clearly articulate key product features, launch timelines & adoption strategy
    • Customer-Centric— Exhibit the ability to demo the product to stakeholders, tailoring demonstrations for internal/external audiences.
    • Release Sign-off — Support the Product Manager & Product Owner with necessary product demos to ensure the requirements are met and the release is of good quality before shipping
  • Collaboration with the wider business to provide product expertise and gain further understanding of customer needs and market opportunities:
    • Communicate effectively with the business and stakeholders at all levels
    • Provide Training materials to support the wider business with understanding of the product/feature

1) Each requirement has clear information regarding the user and acceptance criteria — developers & QA are able to understand the scope

2) Stakeholder Engagement — Engage with internal & external stakeholders to gather feedback and confirm requirements before build, with follow ups post-release.

2) Regular collaboration with PMS, POs & additional stakeholders to understand requirements & the value behind these.

Work with internal & external stakeholders to support following post-release of development work

3) Backlog Refinement — Collaborate with the Product Owner & Product Manager to prioritise the backlog items to ensure strategy alongside roadmap and capacity plan

3) Regular collaboration with the PMS & POs to ensure that the correct requirements are prioritised in a way that enables the execution of the roadmap.

Utilise existing JIRA platform to support PO with a prioritised backlog.

4) Agile Ceremonies — Active participation in regular meetings with the development teams to ensure smooth coordination with the development team and project progress.

4) Regular attendance and key participation in all Agile

First 30 Days: Establishing Foundations

1.     Understand Product & Domain Knowledge

a.      Attend onboarding sessions, demos, and product training to develop a strong understanding of the product.

b.      Collaborate with the PM and PO to gain insights into the product strategy and key features.

c.       Study existing user guides, feature specifications, and FAQs to familiarize yourself with common challenges and best practices.

2.     Stakeholder Engagement

Begin building relationships with internal stakeholders, including PMS, POs, developers, QA, and external clients.

b. Engage in initial stakeholder meetings to understand their pain points, expectations, and gather early feedback.

3.     JIRA & Backlog Familiarization

a.      Get comfortable with the existing JIRA platform and workflows.

b.      Review the product backlog, epics, and user stories in detail.

c.       Participate in backlog refinement sessions to understand prioritization processes.

4.     Agile Participation

a.      Attend all Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, planning, and retrospectives) to observe and understand the current processes.

b.      Ensure active participation and provide constructive feedback where necessary.

Start creating clear user and functional requirements, breaking down roadmap initiatives into epics and user stories.

a.      Actively collaborate with the PMS and POs to refine the backlog based on the strategy, roadmap, and capacity.

b.      Prioritize items in alignment with the product vision and roadmap execution.

c.      Support backlog management in JIRA by adding necessary details, linking documentation, and monitoring progress.

3.     Stakeholder Feedback & Post-Release Engagement

Engage with internal and external stakeholders to confirm that post-release features meet expectations.

b.     Regularly follow up after releases to gather feedback for future improvements.

4.     Release Testing

a.      Collaborate with the Dev and QA teams to review and test product features before release.

b.      Support the PM and PO in release sign-offs and ensure that all features align with agreedupon requirements and quality standards.

Next 60 - 90 Days: Leadership & Strategic Contribution

1.     Product Discovery & Strategic Input

a.      Begin contributing to product discovery, supporting the PM and PO by providing feedback from stakeholders and research.

b.      Assist in research and development activities like market analysis and competitive benchmarking to inform product decisions.

2.     Go-To-Market Support

a.      Actively support product launches, ensuring that all product features and timelines are communicated clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.

b.      Assist with creating go-to-market plans, highlighting key product benefits and feature sets.

3.     Knowledge Sharing & Documentation

a.      Lead or participate in the creation and maintenance of product documentation, including user guides, feature specs, and release notes.
