Job Title: Java L1/L2 Support Engineer
Location: Remote
Job Type: Full-Time, Shift-Based
Experience: 4-7 Years
Shift Timings: Rotational Shifts (including night shifts)

Job Description:
As a Java L1/L2 Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support for Java-based applications and services. You will work in a fast-paced environment, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with the development and operations teams to ensure application uptime and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and support Java applications in production environments.
  • Provide L1/L2 support for incidents and service requests related to Java applications.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting for issues reported by users, resolving or escalating to L3 teams when necessary.
  • Identify and diagnose issues such as performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and server crashes.
  • Collaborate with development teams for bug fixes, enhancements, and improvements.
  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents and provide long-term solutions.
  • Document issues, steps taken for resolution, and preventive measures.
  • Monitor and ensure SLAs (Service Level Agreements) are met.
  • Perform log analysis, trace transactions, and identify issues in the application stack.
  • Participate in 24x7 support as part of a rotational shift.
Technical Skills:
  • Java/J2EE: Strong understanding of Java fundamentals, object-oriented programming, and enterprise applications.
  • Application Servers: Experience with servers such as Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic, or WebSphere.
  • Databases: Proficiency in SQL and understanding of RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Troubleshooting Tools: Familiarity with tools such as JVM monitoring, JConsole, and thread dumps.
  • Log Analysis: Experience with logging tools such as ELK stack, Splunk, or similar.
  • Version Control: Understanding of Git, SVN, or similar version control systems.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus.

  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with teams and users.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a shift-based environment.
  • Problem-solving attitude and capability to think critically under challenging situations.
  • Willingness to learn and quickly adapt to changing environments.
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
