This is a hybrid position. You’ll divide your time between working remotely from your home and an office, so you should live within commuting distance. Hybrid teams may work in-office as much as a few times a week or as little as once a month or quarter, as decided by leadership. Join our Team

We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join our eCommerce platform's Payments team. At the heart of our operations lies a robust infrastructure that handles an impressive volume of transactions, totaling approximately $4 billion annually. All members of our team contribute to the development of groundbreaking services designed to support both Payments and Payouts functionalities. Our platform boasts integrations with a diverse array of processors spanning various global markets, ensuring that our customers enjoy a wide range of options when making purchases and receiving payments.

What you'll get to do...

• You will be part of a team to help build a secure, highly available, fault-tolerant, and globally performant micro-services-based platform deployed on the AWS cloud which will form the backbone of GoDaddy's business
• You will work in a scrum team and join forces with other specialists, product managers, architects, and sales & services representatives from within and outside of the eCommerce group
• You will continuously look for opportunities to refine existing systems to improve their reliability, performance, and manageability

Your experience should include...

• 8+ years of technology experience in a software engineering role and building large-scale distributed applications or solutions
• Extensive experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and a good understanding of microservice architecture
• 5+ years of Cloud computing experience using publicly available services, AWS is an advantage
• Very strong communication skills
• Experience leading and/or mentoring small to medium-sized teams
• Strong experience in a programming language such as Java (preferred), Python, Node, etc.
• Strong foundation in data structures, software designs, microservices, and containers
• Experience with relational and no-SQL databases
• Experience in writing unit, integration, and smoke tests
• Experience with CI/CD tools and standard methodologies (Jenkins, Pipelines)
• Experience of working in agile teams
• Familiarity with version control software, Git is helpful

You might also have...

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree, with validated computer science fundamentals
• Experience and/or knowledge in Payments space is a huge plus
• Interest/experience with e-commerce
• Passion for dedicated, continuous learning both in and out of the office
