Job Description

The Actuarial Analyst will under direct guidance and supervision, an Actuarial Associate applies knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, and principles of business in order to provide assistance and technical support for rating/pricing, valuation, healthcare economics, and/or financial reporting and forecasting. They work with a team of actuaries to assist with the actuarial components of health programs, providing actuarial support to Network Management, Underwriting, Sales and Marketing, Finance, and/or Healthcare.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in actuarial research, experience studies, and statistical analyses and calculations
  • Analyze financial, statistical and mathematical data and perform actuarial calculations
  • Provide support to senior analysts or actuaries as required
  • Complete procedural tasks accurately, identifying and resolving issues that arise
  • Manage own workload and prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines
  • Retrieve and validate data for rate filings and actuarial models and assist senior staff in building of rate studies, pricing tools, model enhancements, and financial reports
  • Perform effective peer reviews, identifying and communicating errors and risks
  • Remain in good standing in Actuarial Development Program and meet continuing education standards when required

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field
  • 2 years of experience in related field; in lieu of degree, 3+ years of experience in related field
  • At least 3 exams completed towards the eventual attainment of the Associate of the Society of Actuaries designation

Salary Range

$68,200.00 - $109,100.00
