THIS POSITION IS REMOTE WITH TRAVEL REQUIRED

Responsibilities:

The Supervisor, Virtually Integrated Care (VIC) Nursing will supervise the VIC RN staff at the hospital facility level, as well as, coordinate, evaluate and assist with organizational efforts in planning, implementation and sustainment of virtual nursing care models across the organization. This role will provide a combination of supervisory (50%) duties and direct VIC RN duties (50%). This role is hybrid with remote work but also onsite facility observation, team engagement and leadership presence needs.


Supervisory duties will be in the direct supervision and leadership of the Virtually Integrated Care RN staff.
VIC RN duties will provide direct staffing support within the Virtually Integrated Care RN Role.

 

A high degree of professional competence and autonomy will be demonstrated in performing the roles of 1) leader, 2) clinician, 3) educator, 4) consultant/collaborator. This role will  function as a dynamic change leader for this transformational care model. The role will assist with direct supervision and staffing in virtually integrated care models in facilities across the CommonSpirit enterprise. The role will also assist with education and orientation as an integral part of the implementation team and will function as support for standardization and sustainment of critical virtually integrated care workflows. This individual will need to be flexible with their own schedule to align with the staffing needs of the market and implementation plan

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 5 years of overall acute care nursing experience
  • Minimum of 2 years in a nursing leadership role

 

Required Licensure and Certifications

  • Active RN licensure in the state of Nebraska, Iowa or nurse licensure compact.
  • Basic Life Support required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Heart Association: Basic Life Support
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required within 5 months of hire.
  • NIHSS within 30 days of hire for PCU roles.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

  • Experience with staff schedule management, time keeping and professional development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the concepts, standards, practices, and tools/equipment relating to telemedicine/virtual health services programs
  • Practices excellent active listening and coaching skills.
  • Ability to operate at a high level of independence and ambiguity in a virtual work environment while also being able to work collaboratively with others to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to navigate efficiently through the Electronic Medical Record (EPIC) to locate relevant data/information for clinical decision-making.
  • Ability to recognize adverse signs and symptoms and react quickly in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of the principles, standards, practices, and protocols relative to the professional nursing process, plan of care development, pathophysiology, emergency procedures, safety principles and safety issues.
  • Knowledge of CommonSpirit procedures relating to risk management and infection control sufficient to perform the duties of the position remotely.
  • Ability to interpret data and use critical thinking skills in making decisions regarding patient care within assigned scope of authority.
  • Ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships, including physicians, multidisciplinary care team and with patients/families in a virtual work environment.

PREFERRED Qualifications

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
  • MedSurg/PCU/ICU Experience within the last 2 years
