About the Position:
An ideal candidate for the Senior Managing Consultant position in DRS’ Commercial Insurance Practice will have a strong background in forensic accounting and claims calculations across industry sectors, with a focus on complex business interruption. The Senior Managing Consultant will be responsible for generating business, selling projects, and successfully managing client engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and sell engagements to generate annual consulting fees of $400k - $1.5M+
Drive business development through client targeting, conferences, and speaking engagements
Supervise multiple engagements and practice areas effectively
Establish realistic timelines and communicate expectations with clients and teams
Collaborate on report drafting with key stakeholders for alignment
Provide communication strategy guidance and messaging direction to the team
Cultivate and manage relationships with client executives
Ensure compliance with engagement risk protocols and manage budget utilization
Lead and mentor a team of early-in-career professionals
Engage in performance management activities, including goal setting and feedback sessions
Qualifications:
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in forensic accounting with strong knowledge of complex business interruption calculations
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in accounting, finance, economics, or related discipline. Master’s degree in business and/or CPA a plus.
Exceptional negotiation skills with complex/sophisticated situations involving executive and senior level stakeholders
High energy style, flexible and adaptive, with the ability to work well in a very fast paced environment
Ability to adapt to complex client environments and situations
Proven track record of effectively planning for and proactively mitigating risks on engagements
Expert written communication skills, self-directed with preparation of client ready document and presentation development
Articulate, persuasive, communicator who is adept at handling executive and difficult audiences well including ability to adapt style to audience
Work Location:
This position a remote work experience with travel required to be at client sites as the projects dictate.
Salary Transparency:
Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $175,000-$200,000 with a discretionary bonus and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. SPG is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA and 401(k) accounts, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, equity and commissions for some positions.
