About the Role: 

You will manage the Credentialing & Licensing function for our clinicians (ex. MD, NP, PA, LCSW/other BH roles, PharmD) at Cityblock Health as we scale. You will manage a small group of Senior Associates. You’ll work closely with our Clinical Markets, New Markets & Implementation, Legal, People Ops, and Compliance teams to support best-in-class credentialing & licensing functions at Cityblock.

The Manager of Licensing and Credentialing oversees the licensing, certification, and credentialing processes for professionals within the organization (such as healthcare providers, insurance agents, legal professionals, etc.). This role ensures that all required licenses and credentials are up-to-date, accurately maintained, and compliant with regulatory and company standards. The manager leads a team responsible for the efficient processing and tracking of credentials and works closely with external and internal partners to manage renewals, audits, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire process of licensing, certification, and credentialing for all applicable staff.

  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and industry regulations.

  • Coordinate the submission of applications, renewals, and any necessary documentation for new and current employees.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all applicable licensing and credentialing requirements and ensure policies are updated accordingly.

  • Manage the vendor relationships Cityblock engages in for licensing & credentialing 

  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency on the team 

  • Supervise the licensing and credentialing team, providing leadership, training, and support to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.

  • Monitor team performance, set goals, and facilitate professional development.

  • Ensure that all credentials are documented, maintained, and updated in a timely manner in the company’s databases or credentialing software.

  • Lead audits and maintain organized records of all licensing and credentialing information.

  • Address and resolve any compliance or credentialing issues that may arise.

  • Communicate effectively with internal teams (HR, legal, department heads) to ensure proper licensing and credentialing for all staff.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with licensing boards, regulatory bodies, and credentialing agencies.

  • Provide regular status updates to senior management on credentialing issues, potential risks, and key performance indicators.

  • Monitor changes in state, federal, and professional licensing and credentialing regulations.

  • Ensure timely renewals and resolve any regulatory issues impacting employee licenses or credentials.

  • Other functions as assigned.

Requirements for the Role: 

  • 3-5 years of experience in licensing, credentialing, compliance, or a related field.

  • At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience.

  • Experience working with credentialing databases and compliance software.

  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations, such as healthcare or insurance licensing (depending on the industry).

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Certification in healthcare credentialing (CPCS or CPMSM) or similar industry-specific certification.

  • Experience with audits, compliance programs, or quality assurance processes.

We take into account an individual’s qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary. This role is eligible for health insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, participation in the company’s equity program, paid time off, including vacation and sick leave. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location. The expected salary range for this position is: 

$98,000 to $139,000
