ABOUT PRECISION DIAGNOSTICS:

Precision Diagnostics, based in San Diego, California is a fast-growing clinical laboratory that specializes in providing quantitative drug testing, primarily for the purpose of helping physicians monitor their patients’ undergoing treatment for pain or substance abuse. Precision’s objective is to improve patient adherence/compliance with their prescription regimen and protect medical practices from liability.

The Payment Poster is responsible for posting payments, adjustments, and rejections to patient accounts in accordance with current policy and procedure.

THE ROLE:

  • Responsible for posting of all patients, insurance, and $0 payments.
  • Sends for review all zero dollars, denials and underpaid amounts based on denial code selection within the billing system.
  • Makes line-item adjustments, as determined by analysis of EOB (Explanation Benefits), for all zero pays and denials.
  • Sort, scan, and upload all incoming paper payments.
  • Ensure all incoming paper payment, including paper remittances advise, has been batched into SharePoint and the Billing system, and text recognition has been completed successfully.
  • Ensure all scanned documentation is accurately labeled and securely stored as required.
  • Ensure correct payment processing.
  • Runa and analyze balancing reports to ensure accurate posting.
  • Close batches in system at end of day.
  • Completes all banking reconciliation reports daily.
  • Ensures all unapplied deposits are in the billing system for month end balancing.
  • Ensures timeliness, quality, and efficiency in all work to comply with mandated, legislative, and Federal requirements.
  • Abides with HIPAA and PHI guidelines.
  • All other duties as required.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Must have high school diploma or GED.
  • One year posting experience in a medical hospital or outpatient practice setting required.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and ability to prioritize work.
  • Demonstrates an independent work initiative, sound judgment, and strong work ethic.

  • Become fluent in Microsoft 365 (formerly Office635) applications assigned to your role. Common applications include Teams, Word, Excel, Tasks and Planner.
  • Complete training in a timely manner that is assigned to you. Training is primarily conducted via Microsoft Learn modules and is assigned based on:
    • Position/Job Role – Most positions require a core set of Microsoft 365 working knowledge.
    • Project Role – As member of a project team, you may be required to complete training before you can engage with the project team or commence project work.
    • Ad-Hoc – Based on review of your performance via support requests, training modules will be assigned to increase skills.

ADDITIONAL JOB CONSIDERATIONS:

  • This position is Full-Time.
  • Flexible start time between 5 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
  • Must be able to sit at a desk for prolonged periods and working on a computer.
