Compensation Range: $17-21 per hour

Compensation will be dependent upon geographic region, education, and experience.

Job Description

The Recovery Coach serves as a member of the Multi-disciplinary Treatment Team, providing support to the client throughout their treatment stay. Each Recovery Coach is assigned a caseload of clients who they will meet with to address any barriers to engaging in a recovery program during or after treatment.   The Recovery Coach uses their experiences to assist the client in developing a sober support network and utilizing the tools that they are learning as part of their treatment plan. All Recovery Coaches should have the ability to communicate effectively with clients in early recovery and handle crisis situations as they arise. Experience working in a residential treatment setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Meets with client within 48 hours of admission to complete an Individual Recovery Plan.
  • Meets with client at minimum twice a week to review Recovery Plan progress.
  • Orients the client to the facility, program and its schedule.
  •  Assists individuals in recovery planning through completion or planning of concrete tasks (get a Big Book/Basic text, refer to Big Book study, identify local meetings to attend, connect with someone in their area if possible, etc.)
  • Assists clients with activities of daily living within housing program (chores, free time activities, etc.).
  • Works with client to develop a daily routine focusing on behaviors needed for long term recovery.
  • Willingly shares personal recovery experiences, demonstrates and models effective coping techniques and self-help strategies.
  •  Facilitates daily group activities as assigned, including morning community meeting, wrap up meeting, 12 step study group and other activities as assigned.
  •  Participates in both group and individual supervision with Clinical staff.
  •  Works with client to develop a discharge plan inclusive of areas addressed in the Individual Recovery Plan.
  •  Follows up with client post-discharge to check on progress and offer support as needed.
  •  Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of a high school diploma.
  • One year of experience working within a treatment program or recovery community.
  • 12 Step knowledge required.
  • Recovery Coach training preferred.
