Position Overview

Our esteemed Sales and Marketing department is in search of a Property and Casualty Field Underwriter to enhance our team. In this field-focused position, you will be instrumental in evaluating, assessing, and pricing risks, while driving profitable growth for our agency partners in your designated territory.

This role is primarily situated in the Boise, Idaho region, with flexible remote work options available for candidates outside our headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwriting: Evaluate risks, establish pricing structures, negotiate terms, and make informed decisions regarding commercial business.
  • Marketing: Proactively solicit business across all available units within your territory to cultivate robust and diverse agency relationships.
  • Territory Development: Spearhead strategic planning, ownership, and execution of growth initiatives, including onboarding new agencies.
  • Agency Leadership: Foster strong relationships with assigned agencies to create a diverse and profitable portfolio, reflecting our commitment to independent agents.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other field disciplines to bolster agency success through effective communication and teamwork.
  • Market Research: Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and emerging risks, utilizing this knowledge for informed decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial underwriting experience (3+ years preferred).
  • Relevant insurance industry certifications (e.g., CIC, CPCU) are advantageous.
