Job Title: Quality Improvement Specialist (RN) - Remote | WFH

Job Overview

We are actively seeking a driven and meticulous Quality Improvement Specialist (RN) to become a pivotal member of our dedicated healthcare team. This position entails collaborating with clinical units to enhance the quality of care through thorough quality reviews, data analysis, and the execution of transformative quality improvement initiatives. You will engage with multiple departments to uphold exceptional standards in patient care and safety, particularly in critical areas such as sepsis, stroke management, and fall prevention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-depth assessments to evaluate the quality and appropriateness of patient care, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations.
  • Act as an internal quality consultant, partnering with teams across various levels to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), tracking action items and ensuring proper closure of events.
  • Communicate insights derived from quality assessments and work alongside leadership to create effective action plans.
  • Coordinate and report on Quality Improvement Projects, providing recommendations grounded in best practices to enhance patient care.
  • Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Committees on diverse quality initiatives, ensuring compliance with established timelines.
  • Maintain rigorous compliance with state, federal, and Joint Commission (TJC) standards.
  • Manage systems for collecting, analyzing, and reporting performance data.
  • Team up with Risk and Patient Safety departments to identify and mitigate patterns or trends in event reviews.
  • Uphold professionalism and confidentiality while handling sensitive information, contributing to the team’s objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is required.
  • A valid Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of 7 years of nursing experience, with 3-5 years concentrated in quality improvement and patient safety.
  • Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association (BLS).
  • CPHQ certification is preferred but not mandatory.
