Field Service Engineer at Micromeritics Instrument Corporation

Micromeritics is hiring a Field Service Engineer (FSE) for a one-year Fixed Term Contract to support our customers and sales team within Belgium. The Field Service Engineer focuses on the service, support, and installation of Micromeritics products for our customers. (Position based out of Brussels, Belgium and/or surrounding areas and requires 50-75% travel.)

The FSE interfaces with all members of sales, support and service groups within Belgium and EU teams. In addition, the FSE must work together with our Global Service Team located in Atlanta, GA, USA.

The Field Service Engineer will:

• Perform all service activities relating to Micromeritics instruments following internal guidelines, established procedures and customer requirements.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and support by phone and email.
• Provide on-site installation, service, and repair of company products with the aim of exceeding the customer’s expectation and ensuring customers can successfully use Micromeritics technology and instrumentation.
• Actively promote Micromeritics products and services.
• Ensure professional relationship with our customer base to achieve customer loyalty and escalate issues as necessary to solve critical problems in the most expedient way possible.
• Follow the company’s guidance regarding ethical business.
• Responsible for the management and maintenance of the company’s assets, such as vehicle, parts stock & inventory, computer, telephone, general tools, software, and manuals etc.
• Organize and plan own work schedule by coordinating with all necessary partners such as administration, sales, and senior management.
• Ensure prompt submission of field service reports, expense reports, etc.
• Ensure alignment of all activities at the customer site with the rest of Micromeritics and report important information with respect to our customers (e.g., information about proposed new purchases to sales and general business intelligence

Education and Experience

• Background and education in electro-mechanical technology, electronics, or engineering.
• Fluent in Dutch language.
• Driver’s license
• Minimum of 1 years-experience servicing analytical equipment or similar applications experience.
• Capable of managing own travel and schedule.
• Can travel overnight 2-3 days per week.
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills, ability to work across all levels, groups, and regions
• Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks with differing priorities
• Engineers that are proactive and have a customer-first attitude do well in this position.
• Proficient in English language skills.
• Willing to travel occasional outside of Belgium for training or to support other service engineers within Europe or the United States.
