Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

As a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in infrastructure, you’ll play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the IT systems that form the backbone of Vital Care. Your expertise will span cloud-based solutions, networking, system integrations, and administration. Collaborating with technology management, product development teams, and vendors, you’ll ensure the successful delivery of technical solutions aligned with the business’s strategic decisions. Provide infrastructure installation and support services across Vital Care franchises.

This is a 100% remote role.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure design and Management:
• Design, implement, and maintain robust and scalable infrastructure solutions that meet the organization's current and future needs.
• Azure Infrastructure Support: Provide expertise in managing Azure services including Resources and Resource Groups, Virtual Machines, and Availability Zones. Additionally, offer strong knowledge in Azure networking, security, and storage services to support and enhance cloud infrastructure management.
• Integrate new and existing systems to ensure seamless communication and collaboration across the infrastructure.
• Evaluate and implement third-party tools and technologies to enhance system efficiency and performance.
• Support all aspects of the infrastructure, including servers, infrastructure, storage, and networking.
• Manage standard services within a centralized infrastructure.
• Performance Optimization:
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize system performance to ensure the highest levels of availability, reliability, and scalability.
• Proactively identify and address potential bottlenecks and performance issues.
• Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard the organization's infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, keeping abreast of security best practices.
• Troubleshooting and Escalation:
• Identify and troubleshoot systems and network issues.
• Escalate complex problems as needed.
• Project Leadership:
• Lead infrastructure-related projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project milestones.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Franchise Integration
• Setup and maintain dispersed infrastructures at franchise locations.
• Oversee and manage vendors performing onsite services.
  
  
  

Education, Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related experience.
• Proven experience as a System Engineer with a focus on infrastructure (minimum of 5 years).
• Advanced knowledge of network and routing protocols and cloud-based applications and environments (preferably Azure).
• Proficient in network design, troubleshooting, and optimization tools and techniques.
• Experience in network security, compliance, and auditing.
• Experience in network project management, budgeting, and vendor management.
• Industry certifications are a plus. (e.g., Cisco, MS, ITIL, Palo Alto)
• Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture.
• Scripting and automation skills.
• Ability to understand operational business processes and apply technical/system knowledge.
• Must demonstrate excellent professional communication skills through clearly written, concise and comprehensive documentation, strong technical writing skills.
• Strong organizational, customer service, interpersonal, and time-management skills.
• As a remote work must be able to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
• Able to support off-hour operations as needed.
