Job description

What You'll Do...

Gain a significant understanding of the H&R Block business. Provide assistance to ensure that the company complies with all tax laws, information reporting, and other taxing authority requirements. Preparation and review of calculations for financial statements and global compliance.

Day to day, you'll...


  • Prepare, review, and manage calculations for US Federal, State and Local, and International filings.
  • Review tax return preparation to coincide with calculations completed.
  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and yearly income tax provisions for the corporate financial statements.
  • Lead technology and process improvements to advance compliance processes.
  • Model and qualify the impact of business changes, new tax legislation, and/or tax planning ideas.
  • Conduct research and prepare calculations regarding effects of company business activities on taxes and strategies for minimizing tax liability.
  • Recommend procedures to implement tax savings. Implement guidelines as approved my management.
  • Research, communicate and apply new corporate tax regulations, determining potential tax savings and developing procedures to comply.

What You'll Bring To The Team...


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience.
  • Analytical and detail oriented.
  • Excel skills (experience with pivot tables, V Lookup, building queries, running macros and formulas).
  • Knowledge and application of corporate federal, state, and/or foreign tax laws and regulations
  • Minimum related work experience 3 years
  • Public accounting or corporate tax experience

It would be even better if you also had...


  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst, or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred.
  • Experience with BlockWorks or other tax preparation software to prepare and e-file tax returns.
  • Knowledge of integrated online accounting applications, such as CorpTax, Alteryx, Vertex, OneSource, and Workday

Pay Range Information

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed.

Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.
