Senior Tax Associate - Remote (Within New England) - Tax Advisory

Our team is working with a leading Tax Advisory firm to hire a Senior Tax Associate to their growing team. As a Senior Tax and Bookkeeping Accountant you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing tax compliance and bookkeeping services for our clients. You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, adhering to tax regulations, and providing expert guidance to clients and junior staff. This role is primarily focused on our tax-focused services but will also support our other services as needed.

Tax Services:

  • Assist in the preparation of individual and business tax returns.
  • Assist in the preparation of individual and business tax needs, such as estimated payments, extensions, select form preparation and other items.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Research tax issues and stay updated on tax law changes.
  • Provide verbal and written explanations and summaries of tax issues to colleagues and clients
  • Assist with process evaluation and design.
  • Assist with technology evaluation and selection.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in tax or financial accounting services.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Business Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to understand and communicate accounting principles and tax regulations.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Desire or in progress of pursuing CPA, EA or other professional certification.
  • Comfortable with technology in general.
  • CPA, EA or other professional certification
  • Strong proficiency in accounting & tax software (e.g., QuickBooks, Lacerte, Karbon, etc.).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Business Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Interest in continuous process improvement, transformation through technology.
