Principal Advisory Services Consultant

Informatica is looking for a Principal Consultant--Advisory Services with practitioner experience leading large-scale data management and analytics projects. This is a remote position, reporting to a Senior Director, Data Strategy & Governance, you have experience implementing data governance programs, defining vision and data strategy with peers and senior leadership to gain "support" to the strategy and overall value of Informatica Products & Solutions to join our Professional Services team. You will provide pre- and post-sale strategic consulting services. Responsibilities include providing clients with data strategy development and understanding, implementation guidance, program design, business use case identification, program road mapping, and business outcome definition.

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do

  • This is a remote position in which you will engage with high-profile customers and connect their strategic goals to Informatica's technical capabilities.
  • Support the pre- and post-sales customer journey and develop trusted advisor relationships with customers and partners.
  • Lead workshops and consulting engagements with customer business and technology teams, determine use cases and strategies, help prospective customers create their data management program approach and roadmap, design programs, and advise on best practices for driving cultural change and adoption through data
  • Identify new business opportunities for Informatica sales and professional services through strategic customer engagement
  • Help build the Informatica brand but publishing white papers and blogs and supporting Informatica marketing events as an industry expert
  • Help develop new Advisory service offerings, including concept, positioning, collateral, enablement, and rollout
  • Be a true partner and trusted advisor to our customers while providing detailed expertise and exploring creative solutions.

What We'd Like to See

  • Data leadership practitioner experience
  • Has led an end to end data management program, ideally from a business/program/transformation perspective
  • Has done this in an industry role – not a career consultant
  • Must be able to highlight this experience and articulate outcomes and value
  • MDM experience
  • Has done (1), in an MDM context or has a deep familiarity with the discipline of master data management and how to position/sell value and expend the program – again mainly from a business perspective
  • With connections to DG and DQ and related disciplines
  • Healthcare/Life sciences experience preferred

Role Essentials

  • 10+ years working in a leadership practitioner role in the data industry
  • Experienced with creating professional presentations and customer deliverables requiring little review/input from others.
  • Experience working as a business-oriented consultant with all levels of and organization—from C-level to individual contributors
  • Domain expertise across all areas of the data management lifecycle and capabilities, including master data, governance, cloud, data quality, data privacy, and data integration
  • Passionate about data strategy and governance, and enjoy working with customers to solve challenges
  • MDM practitioner background with exposure to one or more industry markets: healthcare/life sciences expertise and data strategy/data governance practitioner work,
  • Bachelor's degree What Does Success Look Like?You use your business and technology industry experience and executive communications and leadership to help your customers realize quantifiable benefits and ongoing success from their data program investments.Nice to Have
  • Formal experience in a management consulting role
  • 10 + years of related experience
  • Visibility and recognition in the data management industry through prior public speaking engagements, published articles, blogs or white papers
  • Experience "selling" concepts and solutions within an organization or by a formal sales position
  • Industry affiliations and certifications (DAMA, EDM, TDWI)
  • PMP/PMI, CCMP, or similar certification
