About The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled FinOps Analyst with a specific focus on our product and R&D lines of business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for contributing FinOps-related insights, priorities, and tasks to our product roadmaps, tracking roadmap progress via key metrics, and reporting on any roadblocks or challenges. Additionally, this role will involve modeling costs for labor, forecasting labor demand over time, and collaborating with product and R&D teams to optimize cloud deployment costs.

Where you will make an impact

  • FinOps Support for Product Roadmaps:
    • Collaborate with product managers and R&D teams to provide financial insights and recommendations during the development of product roadmaps.
    • Ensure that FinOps considerations are integrated into product planning and prioritization.
    • Support financial aspects of product roadmaps, including budgeting and forecasting.
    • Collaborate with product managers to ensure that financial goals and objectives are aligned with roadmap timelines and deliverables.

  • Track Product Roadmap Progress and Provide Insights:
    • Monitor the execution of the product roadmap, tracking progress against plans, and identifying any deviations or challenges.
    • Report on roadblocks or potential bottlenecks that may impact financial objectives or timelines.
    • Generate reports and presentations to communicate financial insights, trends, and recommendations to key stakeholders.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to product and R&D teams, providing guidance on financial implications and trade-offs.

  • Model Labor Costs and Forecast Labor Demand:
    • Develop models to estimate labor costs associated with product development and R&D initiatives.
    • Forecast labor demand over time based on roadmap milestones and business objectives.

  • Optimize Cloud Deployment Costs:
    • Work closely with product and R&D teams to evaluate product architectures and identify opportunities to optimize cloud deployment for cost efficiency.
    • Implement strategies to reduce cloud infrastructure costs without compromising performance or scalability.
    • Analyze cost trends and identify opportunities for cost optimization across product and R&D initiatives.
What You Will Bring

  • Proven experience in financial analysis, preferably in a technology or software development environment.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS preferred) and understanding of cloud cost management principles.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate technical data into actionable insights.
  • Experience managing projects or programs with complex schedules, timelines, and dependencies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
    • Experience with FinOps practices and methodologies.
    • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
    • Certification in cloud computing or FinOps (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, FinOps Practitioner).
