Job description

Summary

 

Protos is seeking a visionary and seasoned Vice President of Mid- Market Sales to spearhead the creation and growth of a new sales vertical. This executive role will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing sales team, developing and executing strategic sales initiatives, and driving revenue growth in an untapped market segment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of scaling sales organizations, penetrating new markets, and achieving exceptional results in enterprise-level security services or similar managed service industries.

 

As a key member of the executive team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the company's strategic direction, fostering a culture of excellence, and positioning Protos as the industry leader in Off-Duty Law Enforcement programs. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic sales leader to make a significant impact on our organization's future.

Remote, with occasional travel to key markets and company headquarters

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the new vertical, aligning with overall company objectives and market opportunities
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales team, including directors, managers, and individual contributors
  • Establish ambitious yet attainable sales targets and ensure their achievement through effective planning, execution, and performance management
  • Create and implement sales processes, methodologies, and best practices to optimize team performance and drive consistent growth
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Operations teams to ensure alignment and support for the new vertical's goals
  • Identify and pursue strategic partnerships and key accounts to accelerate market penetration and revenue growth
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to the executive team on sales performance, market trends, and growth opportunities
  • Drive innovation in sales approaches, leveraging data analytics and emerging technologies to enhance sales effectiveness
  • Represent Protos at high-level industry events, conferences, and client meetings to build brand awareness and credibility
  • Continuously assess and refine the sales strategy based on market feedback and performance metrics

 

Requirements

 

  • 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, with at least 5 years at the Regional VP level or equivalent
  • Proven track record of building and scaling successful sales teams, preferably in a new market or vertical
  • Extensive experience in enterprise sales within the security services industry or related fields
  • Strong understanding of strategic selling processes and ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop top talent
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex value propositions to C-level executives
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making approach
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and sales analytics tools
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field required

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years in senior sales leadership roles, with demonstrable success in:
    • Building and leading large sales teams
    • Developing and executing sales strategies for new markets or verticals
    • Achieving and exceeding aggressive revenue targets ($50M+ annually)
    • Implementing and optimizing sales processes and technologies
