Job description

About the Company

Our client is shaking up the office furniture industry to create an office experience for the 21st century: easy, affordable, and flexible so people can sit down (or stand) and get to work. Based in NYC and backed by investors behind household brands like Quip, Caraway, and Peloton, the founders bring experience in partnerships, real estate, and venture building at leading companies such as Oxford Properties, SL Green, and Redfin. They are an ambitious group of problem solvers innovating across software, design, and logistics, seeking entrepreneurial teammates who enjoy taking on challenges.

The Role

The company is looking for a talented Content and Campaigns Manager to own the full spectrum of content, brand voice, and merchandising throughout the user journey. This high-visibility, high-impact role combines creative excellence with strategic oversight of brand communication and user experience at the most critical points of the customer journey. The Content and Campaigns Manager will craft the brand voice across all touchpoints, coordinate seasonal sales and product launches, lead dedicated content marketing initiatives, and optimize website copy and merchandising to drive engagement and conversions.

The ideal candidate brings experience in copywriting, content strategy, and campaign management, preferably in a high-growth DTC or ecommerce environment. They have a sharp eye for detail, a passion for storytelling, and strong project management skills. Their writing is engaging, adaptable to various formats and audiences, and they understand the nuances of ecommerce merchandising. The successful candidate will craft compelling product narratives that drive measurable improvements in engagement, conversion, and retention.

In the first ninety days, the new hire will immerse themselves in the brand voice and product offerings, working closely with the growth marketing and digital product teams to understand the current content approach and identify opportunities for improvement. They will refine content pillars, take ownership of upcoming campaigns, and conduct a comprehensive audit of website copy and merchandising strategy, developing a roadmap for optimization and AB testing.

As the cross-functional content leader, the Content and Campaigns Manager will have an incredible opportunity to shape the written voice and brand narrative of a category-defining brand in the rapidly evolving office furniture industry. If you're passionate about blending written excellence with data-driven strategy to produce compelling content and campaigns that resonate with audiences and drive business results, this opportunity is for you.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will span three key areas across the Growth and Digital Product teams:

Promotional & Product Launch Campaigns

  • Author and maintain a monthly campaign content calendar, including regular seasonal programming (promotional and non-promotional), ad hoc sales, and product launches.
  • Lead theme generation, copy creation, and creative coordination for all promotional work, from major seasonal campaigns to ad-hoc sales.
  • Lead copy creation and creative coordination for new product launches across the digital merchandising and marketing stack.
  • Develop creative briefs, timelines, and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful campaign execution.
  • Analyze campaign performance and provide insights for future improvements.

Website Merchandising

  • Own the strategic merchandising of the ecommerce site, from written copy across UX and product placements, to navigation content, to visual assets and imagery.
  • Oversee tactical merchandising tasks, including copy updates, product setup, categorization, and promotional campaign setup.
  • Define, prioritize, and execute AB tests for key placements to optimize and personalize the consumer journey.
  • Drive revenue growth through effective ecommerce planning, execution, and optimization, including sales data analysis and KPI monitoring.
  • Collaborate with the SEO agency on blog post publication and on-page SEO copy updates.
  • Partner with the B2B team to author long-form content for SEO and lead generation.
  • Conduct research and audits of the competitive landscape for inspiration on new campaign ideas, website merchandising, and value-add content.

Brand Voice

  • Be the primary owner of the written word for the brand.
  • Audit and optimize copy cross-channel and on-site for a consistent brand experience.
  • Develop and maintain the brand's written voice across all platforms, including website, email, social media, and advertising.
  • Create style guides and train team members on brand voice and tone.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across all channels and touchpoints.
What We're Looking For
  • 2-5+ years of experience at an ecommerce brand with a focus on content, copy, and/or merchandising; experience with Shopify strongly preferred.
  • Superlative writing skills; you're the go-to editor in your family and friend groups.
  • Exceptional project management skills; perhaps you run your life in Notion.
  • Extreme attention to detail in both written content and project execution.
  • Fluency with at least one AB testing tool and measuring success.
  • A passion for delightful digital experiences: you stay current on UX + lifecycle marketing best practices and appreciate the nuances of a seamless customer journey.
  • A desire to build a strong brand voice with a keen design eye, adhering to and building on existing brand guidelines, including writing style guides.
  • Clear, structured, and proactive communication to manage cross-functional teams.
Bonus Points
  • Proficiency in SEO best practices for content strategy.
  • Experience with lifecycle marketing tools such as Klaviyo and Attentive.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS for more complex AB tests and templates.
  • Previous experience at a high-growth DTC company or agency.
  • A love for furniture, productivity, and the built environment.
