A Bit About The Role:

We are seeking a skilled, organized and motivated Cloud Operations Engineer to join our dynamic Managed Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our cloud-based network infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security of our services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support and enhance our Managed Services offerings.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Deployments: Support the deployment of new cloud services and platform features, ensuring they are properly configured and integrated into the existing network infrastructure.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation of cloud services via tools like Datadog. Respond to incidents & service requests and provide timely resolution to Managed Services network/ infrastructure -related problems based on defined SLAs.
  • Incident Response: Assist in diagnosing and resolving network-related incidents and outages. Escalate complex issues to senior team members or external support as needed. Document incidents, resolutions, and any changes made to the system.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Generate regular reports on network performance, uptime, and incidents. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of monitoring processes, incident response protocols, and network changes.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Share knowledge and best practices with team members to enhance collective understanding and skills. Provide training and support to other team members and departments on cloud network operations and related processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Cloud Platform team, security, and development teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of network services across the organization.
  • Continuous Monitoring Improvement: Contribute to the refinement of monitoring tools and processes to enhance detection and response capabilities. Suggest and implement improvements to monitoring strategies to ensure the reliability and security of cloud services.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and changes to ensure knowledge sharing and operational consistency.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze network performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance network efficiency and reduce latency.
  • Security: Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and encryption, to protect data and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Cloud Platforms: Manage and optimize network resources across multiple cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, and OCI.
  • Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure network resiliency and business continuity.
  • Network Management: Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based network infrastructure, including VPCs, subnets, route tables, and security groups.
  • Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline network operations and improve efficiency.
About You:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineering or cloud network operations.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI)
  • Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP)
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts and architectures.
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools like Datadog.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

 

 

Preferred Skills

  • Certification in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Certified Architect).
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Datadog, Atlassian, Bitbucket, Gitflow).
  • Kubernetes familiarity for networking and health monitoring
