As the Director of Operations you will hold a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operations of Energy5. Your primary focus will be to provide strategic leadership, streamline processes, and foster a culture of operational excellence. By working closely with internal teams, external partners, and key stakeholders, you will be instrumental in driving the company's mission to achieve our goals.
Responsibilities:
- Operations Management: Oversee and streamline daily operations across all departments to enhance efficiency and resolve issues.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new opportunities, build key relationships, and develop strategic proposals to drive growth.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's overall goalsand objectives.
- Collaborate with the executive team to set long-term goals and KPIs for the operationsdepartment.
- Lead and manage a high-performing operations team, providing coaching, mentorship,and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency andeffectiveness.
- Streamline workflows and procedures to maximize productivity and reduce operationalcosts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, contractors, and partners toensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services and products.
- Negotiate and manage contracts, agreements, and service level agreements withvendors.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial management.
- Allocate resources efficiently to meet operational goals and objectives while maintainingfiscal responsibility.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, standards, and certifications.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks, implementing appropriate control measures.
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Finance) to align operationalactivities with overall business strategies.
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify new business opportunities, market trends,and customer needs in the energy efficiency and sustainability sector.
- Analyze competitor activities and industry developments to stay ahead of the curve.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive revenuegrowth and market expansion.
- Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with existing and potential clients toensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- Identify target markets, segments, and customer profiles for Energy5's services andproducts.
- Lead efforts to acquire new clients, including residential, commercial, and industrialcustomers, through effective sales and marketing strategies.
- Generate regular reports and updates for the executive team on business developmentand operational activities and outcomes.
Requirements
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role will bring relevant sector experience, a solid set of core skills, and an eagerness to learn.
5+ years of experience in a senior leadership role overseeing operations, preferably in the energy industry.
Demonstrated high level of strategic agility and desire to work in a complex and evolving environment and an innovation mindset.
Experience working on energy policy, legislation and/or regulation at the state and regional levels.
Prior experience leading a growing team.
Proven track record of developing and executing successful operational strategies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performance teams.
Comfort working in a fast-paced start-up technology environment is essential.
Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills required to effectively collaborate, motivate, and facilitate others in group situations.
