As an Availity Technical Platform Owner, you are the platform specialist who owns and drives the goals, objectives, and constraints for the engineering project. You are the single person ultimately responsible for its success. In this role, you represent the business in the scrum team and work with user groups and stakeholders to determine what features are being released on the respective platform. As the bridge between product and engineering, you must align both parties to a common goal while aggressively managing stakeholder and customer expectations. You define what success means for the team and being the spokesperson for the respective platform.

Location: Remote, US

Role qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field of study, or 2-4 years of relevant work experience.

• 3 to 5 years of progressive work experience designing business processes, technical mapping processes, and working on process improvement initiatives and business system design.

• Must have experience with SQL and relational database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, GraphQL) • Experience in an agile development environment • Extensive experience with healthcare/payer/insurance industry claims processing systems, provider office operations, and customer service processes in a healthcare company.

• Experience in the writing of detailed technical documentation e.g., business requirements, source-to-target mappings, and technical and functional specifications.

• Work with a variety of legacy applications and platforms and work with application teams to implement or migrate associated components to cloud services

• Must be proactive, self-motivated, and able to work well under pressure while managing multiple competing projects and priorities.

• Direct experience working as part of a project team.

• Integrating the disparate best-of-class solutions.

• Experience creating detailed specifications for use by both technical and non-technical readers.

• Experience with X12 EDI standards in a healthcare setting is preferred.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Exposure to cloud technology, different patterns, deployment methods, and compatibility of the applications

• Exposure to major AWS technologies and associated components and variations.

• Exposure to Software Development Best Practices (Version control, Change Management, Unit Testing, GIT, etc.).

• Knowledge of OOP language is a plus

• Demonstrated mastery using PC skills, MS Suite products, and flowcharting tools.

• Highly motivated to collaborate and to enable others to be successful.

• Strong desire and ability to learn new concepts.

• Aptitude for figuring out technical concepts and challenges, strong problem-solving skills.

• Ability to turn ambiguous and potentially conflicting requirements into clearly defined solutions.

• Knowledge of business process development and business process design/redesign. • Ability to create fact-based business recommendations.

• Ability to interact successfully with individuals at all levels of the organization and to develop relationships.

• Ability to facilitate meetings with a clear goal and participation of appropriate team members and stakeholders.

• Familiar with Agile and Lean SDLC

What you will be doing:

• Solves complex problems through ongoing, thorough research and analysis of designs and modification of procedures.

• Prepares detailed backlog and timelines for project management.

• Creates and designs documents for technical, administrative, and all levels of management

• Performs technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation; evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyzes for total systems

• As a subject matter expert, serves as a technical consultant to internal and external customers regarding interface with the platform.

• Maintains a working knowledge of technical changes to the system.

• Analyzes existing platforms for optimal performance and makes recommendations as required to reduce or limit technical debt and AWS cost/benefit analysis

• Pursues knowledge of technological advances and applies knowledge to contribute to the company’s vision of its role in the industry.

• Demonstrates qualities of an effective leader.

• Communicates with clients as required regarding technical and design issues.

• Responsible for providing documentation to support platform operations.

• Collaborates with multiple internal departments to drive the highest level of customer satisfaction

• Participate in/leads platform design and specifications processes.

• Facilitates the platform vision and roadmap

• Provides estimates to the cross-technical team and prioritize enhancement and features.

• Using agile development methodologies, translates findings into user stories, scenarios, personas, and other design tools for platform engineering teams

• Support release readiness activities and post-deployment support processes.
