Description

As Legal and Judicial agencies transition to a technology-driven workflow, VIQ Solutions is at the forefront, providing transcription services across various industries. We are currently seeking experienced Legal/Judicial contract candidates with significant experience transcribing depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings. This is a 100% remote opportunity for Independent Contractors.

The role requires intense attention to detail, familiarity with legal terminology, and excellent grammar while processing audio recordings and adhering to style guides to produce verbatim transcripts. Candidates will have the flexibility to set their own schedules and will receive support from our in-office team as needed. Available work spans 24/7/365 to accommodate various schedules, with those who have weekend availability encouraged to apply.

Skills

  • Experience with court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription required.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Adherence to deadlines and client-specific style guides.
  • Outstanding literacy skills, including comprehension, spelling, and grammar.
  • Ability to collaborate remotely.
  • Typing proficiency in both speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to process extreme audio/text content (note: content may be offensive).
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology.
  • Court reporting students will also be considered.
  • Currently, this opportunity is not available to Massachusetts or California residents.
