Role Purpose: As a Rota Coordinator, your primary responsibility will be to ensure all Avicenna pharmacies have pharmacist cover at all times, whether through employed pharmacists or locums, while staying within the defined budget. You will manage this through the "Locate a Locum" platform, ensuring our patients receive uninterrupted care. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure pharmacist cover for all pharmacies, including during emergencies.
  • Prepare and manage rotas one year in advance.
  • Oversee pharmacist holiday management and ensure shifts are covered.
  • Ensure pharmacies open on time and communicate issues to relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with other departments to ensure locums are paid on time.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive network of locums.
  • Ensure new pharmacies are integrated into the locum booking system.
  • Control hourly rates and mileage expenses within set parameters.
  • Ensure locums have the necessary accreditations to perform required services.
  • Abide by data protection laws. Main Duties:
  • Be on-call to handle emergency pharmacist coverage.
  • Monitor the rota daily and address any gaps or potential issues.
  • Ensure all locums booked are fit to practice.
  • Maintain up-to-date records, including cancellation and non-trading logs.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Rota Manager. Skills and Experience:
  • Proficient in computer use.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely.
  • Experience in scheduling, planning, and managing budgets.
  • Understanding of the locum market.
