This is a remote position.

Schedule:  Part-time, flexible hours, 20 hours a week

Job Description:

We are looking for someone to join our small agency team as an SEO Manager! We'd like you to have an SEO plan you normally adhere to, but also be able to execute on any strategy updates across all the disciplines in SEO (ie. Keyword research, On Page, Off Page, Technical including backlink generation) and also understand the benefits of content as an opportunity in the new SGE world.

Here's a breakdown of coverage areas:
  • Google Search Console Management - Making sure Google is happy with regards to indexing, sitemap, mobile experience, page experience etc.
  • Keyword Research - Staying abreast of keyword updates as well as keeping target keywords list up to date.
  • Keyword Rank Tracking - Full and continued analysis of how our clients are ranking against target keywords.
  • Site Speed updates - An often overlooked area, but making sure the site is running fast is a big part of SEO. We monitor and manage this.
  • Metadata Optimization - Making sure titles, descriptions, alt tags etc are all optimized for search.
  • Schema Optimization - Search engines use structured data to comprehend the content more effectively. Adding Schema aligns with that SEO effort.
  • Internal/External Link Management - Aligning the internal and external links within content with the pillar/cluster methodology of the content.
  • Competitor Tracking - Tracking top competitors and comparing our clients against them as well as pulling keyword options from them
  • Backlink Management - Making sure broken backlinks are taken care of and toxic backlinks are minimal
  • Backlink Building - Related to Domain Authority, this is one of the top SEO factors, because with backlinks from high DA sites, our clients site will be seen as more trustworthy and valuable and get higher in the ranks.
  • Past Content Optimization - Going through 2-3 past posts a month to make sure they are also optimized for search.
  • GBP Management - Making sure the Google profile is optimized as well as repurposing content there.


Requirements
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics, including GA4.
  • Proficiency in Google Search Console.
  • Proficiency in SEO tools such as SEMRush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and Botify.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in SEO, preferably in an agency setting.
  • Strong understanding of HTML/CSS and website structures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Highly Regarded Skills and Experience:
  • Ability to write content optimized for SEO.
  • Technical website development skills (Wordpress / Shopify / HTML / JS / CSS).
  • Experience in Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO).
  • Familiarity with other digital marketing channels such as PPC, email marketing, and social media.
  • Proven track record of achieving significant organic traffic growth for websites.
