Description

Join a dedicated non-profit organization in Foggy Bottom, D.C., as a Staff Accountant. This role is crucial in managing financial transactions, preparing detailed reports, and ensuring precise record-keeping. With the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule, you'll have the opportunity to balance both in-office and remote work. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Monitor and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
  • Manage payroll processing, including timekeeping and benefits administration.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Assist with audit and tax filing preparations and coordination.
  • Maintain documentation and records for audit purposes.
  • Support the preparation and monitoring of departmental budgets.
  • Contribute to financial planning and forecasting activities.
  • Provide financial support and advice to other departments as needed.
  • Collaborate with the finance team and other staff to improve financial processes.
  • Respond to financial inquiries and deliver excellent internal customer service.

Qualifications
