We are looking for a detail-oriented and innovative professional to help shape the future of maritime systems and contribute to crucial defense missions.

In this position, you will blend technical expertise with strategic thinking to provide support to senior-level defense personnel. Your focus will be on developing advanced maritime systems, particularly within the undersea domain. You will utilize your specialized knowledge of uncrewed systems and marine mammals to evaluate safety risks and enhance warfighter protection.

As a maritime systems technician, you will work collaboratively with a diverse group of professionals, contributing to research and development in robotic and uncrewed systems. This role offers the opportunity to use your extensive technical knowledge for problem-solving, mentoring team members, and independently managing key projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct safety hazard analyses and risk assessments, utilizing tracking systems to address identified hazards.
  • Prepare and present safety risk acceptance documents to Department of Defense (DoD) system safety review boards.
  • Develop technical documents, including information papers and concepts of operations (CONOPs).
  • Organize and lead technical meetings, facilitating smooth communication among stakeholders.
  • Analyze and synthesize technical data to create cohesive reports and presentations.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience in system safety hazard analysis and risk assessment.
  • Proven ability to write clear and concise technical documents and CONOPs.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience facilitating technical meetings and working groups.
  • Secret-level security clearance.
  • A high school diploma or GED.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with marine animals.
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Certifications such as IVER 3 and IVER 4 AUV Operator and Repair Technician, Aqualung Closed Circuit Rebreather Repair Technician, or PADI SCUBA Instructor.

Security Clearance

Candidates must be eligible to obtain a Secret-level security clearance. A security investigation will be required.

Compensation

Salaries for this position range from \(60,400 to \)137,000, based on experience, skills, and location. This range reflects just one part of our total compensation package.
