About The Team & Role

  • Team: Be part of our close-knit, collaborative Identity & User Platform team, which is under the Foundations Platform Engineering group.
  • Location: This is a hybrid role based out of our vibrant New York headquarters.
  • Reporting To: Work directly with our dedicated Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer on the Identity & User Platform, you will:

  • Develop and enhance authentication, authorization, and account services, ensuring platform security and robustness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve our identity platforms and promote best practices.
  • Platformize Identity components to enhance the developer experience for engineering teams.
  • Write clean, testable, and maintainable code that stands the test of time.
  • Contribute to platform-level architecture discussions and decisions, shaping our technical future.
  • Mentor teammates by sharing expertise in design patterns and best practices.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • 4+ years of experience in developing scalable microservices-based systems using modern Java/JVM technologies.
  • A solid understanding of database schema design, caching, and scalability for both relational and NoSQL databases (we use MongoDB, Postgres, and CockroachDB).
  • A strong security mindset, prioritizing system security.
  • A passion for platform scalability, reliability, performance, and code quality.
  • A desire to learn and grow in a dynamic, inclusive environment.

Compensation

Cash compensation ranges from \(128,500 to \)207,000 USD (base salary, and may include on-target commissions or overtime pay). This range is subject to change based on relevant skills, experience, and location.
