Description

Summary

The Vice President of New Business Development – Data Sales is responsible for building a pipeline of Wiland View opportunities with Fortune Top 1000 brands along with various national and regional companies within multiple verticals to become a client of Wiland. This role is not limited to those vertical market areas but they will be the primary focus for this role. This is a “hunter” sales role. The position requires cold-calling using a variety of communication techniques, use of Solutions-Selling approach, and facility in discerning and overcoming objections.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify, contact, and persuade potential prospects to contract for Wiland View data products. This entails calling (including “cold” calls) and coordinating ongoing communication with prospective clients to win a meeting to sell Wiland solutions (Wiland View). 
  • Discern and perceive possible objections of prospective clients quickly, and then clearly and articulately address those concerns in a way that puts the potential client at ease, overcomes objections, and leads the prospect to or use our solutions (primarily Wiland View).
  • Meet with prospective clients in phone conferences, online meetings, and face-to-face to address questions or concerns and persuade such prospects to become Wiland clients. In addition to meeting with prospective clients, travel also includes trade shows, conferences, etc. The goal of travel is to establish a positive rapport and build a relationship with potential clients, and continually provide professional, positive exposure to Wiland at all meetings.
  • Perform outreach to the key prospects in assigned territory and maintain records of the outreach within Salesforce.  Research and understand issues and problems in the assigned industries generally, as well as understand data solutions for specific prospective clients’ needs and requirements. Additionally, learn about additional industries to represent Wiland in a professional, well informed manner. 
Qualifications

Experience, Education, & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing or other related discipline. 
  • 5+ years' sales experience with demonstrable success in new client acquisition and/or sales.
  • 3+ years' experience in working with Fortune 1000 companies, Communications and Travel & Hospitality or other key industry verticals.
  • 5+ years' experience in Direct Marketing industry, with experience in data sales
  • 5+ years' experience using Salesforce, or a closely related sales force automation system.
  • Working knowledge of marketing campaign management.
  • Experience in and comfort with working in home office environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong, polished and demonstrated presentation skills

  • Compensation Range: $100,000 - $128,000. Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component.
