Our client, a highly respected and well-established law firm, is looking for a patent attorney (partner track) with a very strong technical background in organic chemistry or biochemistry. This practice has an abundance of high quality work from an impressive and diverse list of clients.
Primarily, this opportunity will relate to the preparation and prosecution of patents, patentability and infringement opinions, and patent portfolio counseling. There will also be the opportunity to work on due diligence, technology licensing, and PTAB issues, depending on your interests and capabilities.
Here, you will have very substantive client engagement, thus strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Patent Attorney Requirements:
- Minimum M.S. in organic chemistry, biochemistry, or possibly chemical enginering, with a preference for a Ph.D.
- JD, state bar, USPTO bar
- At least 2 years of full time claim drafting experience in chemicals and life sciences
Of Counsel Or Partner:
- If you have a portable book that makes you partially or fully self-sustaining, this firm provides a very competitive compensation structure, billing inclusive of excellent origination incentives and great flexibility. This could be an outstanding platform within which to integrate your existing portfolio of clients.
