The ideal candidate should be a Senior Product Owner to join our data team!

We are looking for a solid understanding of product management, product strategy, and delivery preparation with basic expertise in data technologies, collaboration skills, and an innovative mindset to contribute to the product portfolio of the data product line.

Responsibilities:

• Play a pivotal role in guiding our Data Platform Team in developing products, including managed database services and data streaming services.
• Enable customers to share their domain data as data products based on the Data Mesh architectural framework.
• Define the product vision and drive the development roadmap to ensure alignment with customer and industry needs.
• Provide precise functional and non-functional requirements to the design and implementation teams.
• Report directly to the Lead Product Owner for Data.

Requirements:

• Bachelor or Masters degree in Business Management, Computer Science, or a related field
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Able to work with, and influence, highly technical engineering teams to shape and evolve your products to meet customer needs
• Experience with proper backlog management (i..e. proper scoping and structure of user stories, clear description and definition, and acceptance criteria)
• Collaborative mindset with experience working closely with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, being comfortable in making decisions informed by the viewpoints of many stakeholders.

Must have skills:

• Minimum of 5 years of product management or product ownership experience (not just project management experience) where you have played a key role in defining data platforms and data-related technologies for cloud-native applications.
• Comprehensive understanding of managed data services offered by public cloud providers, including data management (databases and data lakes) and data processing/analytics services.
• Basic technical understanding of tools and technologies around Kubernetes, especially Kubernetes operators and Gitops-based tools.
• Proven ability to develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy.
• Demonstrated experience in gathering, documenting, and prioritizing customer requirements, and the ability to advocate for the customer within the development team.
• Relevant certifications in product management, data management, or cloud technologies are a plus
• Experience in realizing Data Mesh and/or data catalogs
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, SAFE, JIRA, confluence).
• Fluent German in speech and writing (at least B2)
• Fluent English C1
