Charles Taylor is growing, and we are currently adding to our team of talented adjusting professionals across the East coast/Gulf region.

Charles Taylor Adjusting is making critical additions to our US Property, Liability and Casualty Adjusting Practice. The practice works with carriers, brokers, and corporate clients, focusing on moderate to complex losses. Our Adjusters will build and support a portfolio of claims for a variety of classes;

Adjusters will handle the full life cycle of adjusting assignments. Overall, have ownership of end-to-end claims management; receive first notification of a loss, prepare an adjustment, propose settlement amount (where appropriate), and assist with a subrogated recovery.

In addition, as a critical subject matter expert, the Adjuster will establish new client relationships and internal partnerships across our North American and Global Adjusting and Claim Technical Services Practices.

Responsibilities

  • Investigates the cause and extent of the damages, obtain appropriate documentation, and issue a settlement.
  • Manage personal caseload to ensure prompt settlement of files, accuracy, and timeliness, including control of vendor expenses.
  • Develop, build, and win additional nominations with targeted carriers, brokers, TPA, and insureds in the US Market.
  • Receives and reviews new claims and maintains data integrity in the claims system.
  • Assigns forensic engineering and other vendors needed.
  • Lead and participate in new business presentations.
  • Reviews reports and insurance policies for proper coverage.
  • Prepares settlement documents and requests payment for the claim and expenses.
  • Build and maintain client relationships and look after critical accounts by providing timely and clear responses to correspondence received.
  • Travel as required.


Candidate Profile

Our Adjusters are hands-on, technically competent professionals with a history of success within a Commercial Independent Adjusting Firm, Broker, or Insurance carrier. Ideal candidates are visible leaders who possess marketplace relationships and the ability to develop additional revenue-generating opportunities. This role requires a fundamental technical understanding of adjusting, business development acumen, and a deep executive presence.

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of the insurance/reinsurance market.
  • 5+ direct background in complex adjusting roles within the IA or carrier space.
  • State licensing required and industry certifications preferred. Ex. AIC, CPCU, WRT, CSD, and flood determination and certification.
  • Success in developing revenue-generating adjusting opportunities.
  • Experience in Commercial Property, Liability & Casualty adjusting.
  • Visibility and existing relationships within the Underwriting and Brokerage markets.
  • Experience with London-based insurance markets.
