Job description

At Omeda Studios, we're a remote-first game development company with a passion for our live service game Predecessor - an Action MOBA for PC and Consoles. We're on the hunt for skilled professionals ready to dive into creating engaging content for a game designed to captivate players for years. Join our growing team and embark on this exciting journey!

As a community-driven studio, we're all about developing games that resonate with our players. We believe in the power of community feedback to create immersive gaming experiences that are hard to put down.

Thanks to a successful $20 million Series A funding round, we're a vibrant mix of seasoned industry pros and talented community members, all committed to bringing our vision to life and tackling the challenges that lie ahead.

And this is where you come into play - we need an experienced and capable Junior Data Engineer to drive improvements and generate insights from our analytic pipeline. You will work closely with engineers, designers, marketers, producers, and company leadership to drive autonomous data-informed decision making throughout the company, with a continuous focus on improving the player experience.

In This Role You Will

  • Build, maintain, and own robust data products used across the company, including dashboards, web APIs, streaming pipelines and alerts, DBT data and metadata models, and Python libraries.
  • Work closely with engineers and analysts to improve our telemetry release process.
  • Identify opportunities to expand our understanding of the player experience by developing new data tools.
  • Design monitoring and reporting of key player and service health indicators.

What We're Looking For

  • A product-focused mind, with creative analytical skills and the ability to build data solutions to address new challenges.
  • Strong SQL and general programming skills (Python preferred but not required).
  • Experience with data visualisation tools (Grafana, Tableau, Looker), Python/R plotting libraries, or frontend libraries like D3.js or Vega.
  • Ability to quantify key elements of the player experience and design data product to unlock new insights.
  • Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and able to work independently.

Nice to Have

  • History working on a live service or multi-platform game.
  • Experience developing web tools.
  • Cloud Engineering experience, the ability to deploy a dockerized app on kubernetes, and history with simple CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as a code.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine.

Benefits

  • 🌍 Global, remote team
  • 🏝️ 25 days of holiday
  • ❤️‍🩹 Healthcare
  • ... and more to come!
