Are you thinking about advancing your career with one of the most successful logistics organizations worldwide? Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Chicago branch is looking for a new National Road Logistics Business Development Manager to join our Road Logistics team!

Your Role

As a Business Development Manager, you will drive the accelerated development of the assigned global key account portfolio within various verticals (hi-tech, consumer, aerospace). You will do this by working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders while focusing on the following key objectives.

Your Responsibilities

  • To lead and drive the development of new accounts, while supporting top priority tenders in line with the vertical roadmap and targets.
  • To develop customer value propositions including innovative services, products + related solutions with business units, specific industry teams and key accounts.
  • To monitor key account performance within your scope (Gross Profits, volume), initiating corrective actions in case of target deviations.
  • To keep track of business plans for assigned customers, ensuring continuous development and growth.
  • To support request for quote (RFQ) or tender responses for assigned customers, in collaboration with relevant team members to increase success rate.
  • To lead and coach key account team members in customer acquisition and retention, including supporting regular review sessions with assigned customers and introducing processes for continuous improvement.
  • To organize and lead executive reviews and strategy meetings with company executive sponsors.
  • To share knowledge with key account management team through regular content updates in our intranet, marketing materials, workshops, etc.

Your Skills And Experiences

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in road logistics and business development.
  • Account management knowledge and skills along with a strong customer relationship management.
  • Overall solid operations, products and services knowledge.
