WHAT YOU'LL DO
In April 2024, NPS Prism took the next step in our evolution by becoming an independent legal entity, while still retaining our 100% ownership by Bain & Company. We are hiring an experienced, versatile Manager of Public Accounting to work closely with our Director of Finance as we build our internal accounting capabilities.

At a high level, this role will focus on three main objectives:
  • Under general supervision, perform accounting functions in the Americas general ledger group to prepare timely and accurate global consolidated financial reporting
  • Support worldwide finance teams to ensure proper application of global policies in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
  • Analyze financial data, maintains and develops accounting controls designed to safeguard company assets, and prepares management reports and financial statements.


Specifically, you’ll focus on the following:
Accumulate, journalize, reconcile and report on Global financial information for specific transactions and programs
  • Responsible for reviewing and posting journal entries as part of the month-end close process.
  • Responsible for preparing and reviewing certain balance sheet reconciliations over various and rotating areas.
  • Review balance sheet and income statement accounts for accuracy.
  • Prepare and review fluctuation analysis of balance sheet accounts for delivery to senior management.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the month-end financial close including meeting with FP&A and others within the organization, reviewing contracts, and performing calculations and analysis to prepare more complex journal entries and analysis.
  • Assist in the identification of risks and implementation of new controls where necessary.
  • Prepare detailed audit schedules for year-end and interim reviews.
  • Remain informed of new and/or changing US GAAP standards.

Prepare and review payroll, bonus accrual and vacation accruals entries into SAP
  • Prepare payroll application entries, payroll tax and withholding entries for all entities.

Prepare and review Employee Expenses entries
  • Reconcile expense reports
  • Prepare employee expense cash application journal entries

Cash Management
  • Reconcile bank accounts
  • Reconcile Intercompany costs between parent and subsidiaries

Align the accounting needs from both a Global perspective as well as local statutory perspective.
  • Responsible for gaining deep understanding of process and continually assessing and designing new and improved ways of doing things, particularly focused on driving efficiency
  • Independently research and resolve complex accounting and reporting issues (i.e. new or changing accounting standards, revisions to Bain accounting policies, etc.)
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned or as responsibilities dictate
  • Assist in the management of the team with a focus on achievement of overall team goals as well as assisting with supervision and training of individuals in accountant and experienced accountant roles.
  • Assist in the analysis and development of internal controls for safeguarding company assets. Develop documentation of procedures and recommendations for process improvements.
  • Represent the company as a highly visible customer service representative, both internally and externally, including inquiries from cost center managers, domestic and international controllers, other finance department staff members, etc.
This is a remote role - while our HQ is in Boston, MA you will be able to work from anywhere in the US. If you would like to work part or full-time from a WeWork or other co-working space, we may be able to provide support. 

ABOUT YOU
Credentials and experiences
  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ Years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with a Big 4 accounting firm
  • Experience working in a regional or global accounting environment
  • Knowledge in computer information systems used in financial and/or accounting applications (E.g., SAP, FloQast, Visual Lease, Workday)

Skills and abilities
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Ability to research relevant guidance to support and/or suggest proper accounting treatment
  • Excellent problem solving skills, including the ability to logically structure problems using a hypothesis driven approach
  • Ability to work effectively in global teams
  • Excellent written communication skills (in PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt oral communication style to varied audiences
  • English language fluency (both written and oral)
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Ability to prioritize time and tasks according to business needs and value, avoid low-value add daily fire-fighting in order to hit long-term goals and objectives
  • Self-starter and the ability to work independently
