Mission

Enhance and optimize user experiences in our consumer-facing Shopping product line, our newest and fastest-growing business segment. Drive user adoption, improve conversion rates, and ultimately enhance overall business value. Implement a user-centered design approach within the Shopping business unit, ensuring all decisions are data-driven and prioritize user needs. Your goal is to create a premier shopping experience that delights users, boosts sales, and encourages repeat engagement.

Responsibilities:
  • Comprehensive User Understanding: Capturing and understanding users' needs, expectations, and behaviors to design interfaces and experiences that truly satisfy them.

  • Interdisciplinary Coordination: Effectively collaborating with other teams such as development, marketing, and product management to ensure alignment and coherence across the product.

  • Adaptability to Changes: Being flexible and adapting to rapid changes in project requirements, user preferences, or available technologies.

  • Consistency and Scalability: Maintaining visual and functional consistency across different platforms and devices, ensuring designs are scalable and adaptable.

  • Validation and Testing: Testing and validating prototypes and designs with real users to identify and address usability and design issues.

  • Informed Decision Making: Making design decisions based on data, research, and testing rather than personal assumptions or subjective preferences.

  • Effective Communication: Clearly communicating design decisions and advocating for them with stakeholders and development teams, ensuring understanding and acceptance

  • Handling Feedback: Managing constructive feedback from multiple stakeholders and users, balancing different perspectives and needs.

  • Iteration and Continuous Improvement: Being willing to iterate on designs and experiences based on test results and feedback, always seeking continuous improvement.

Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of UX/UI principles and best practices, with a passion for UI and interaction design.

  • Proficiency in design tools like Figma (experience with existing design systems a plus).

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, data, marketing).

  • Ability to translate complex data and research insights into actionable design decisions.

  • Strong visual design skills with a focus on user-friendliness, clarity, and detail-oriented optimization (especially for outdated UI elements).

  • Experience mapping out workflows and wireframes with a focus on creating high-fidelity mockups (demonstrated in portfolio and design exercise).

  • Understanding of holistic user flows across funnels, not just isolated screens.

  • Experience working within retail or e-commerce (bonus points).

  • Experience with prototyping tools (bonus points).

  • Experience with ux writing/content (bonus points).
