Ready to join the future of Radar Software and Systems Development at NXP?

Join a highly technically skilled Software Systems Validation team (that cuts across ASPICE – SWE 4, 5,6, SYS 4, 5 levels), responsible for integration and validation of Radar SDK Bundle on NXP’s cutting edge Radar Platforms. We are looking for a Senior Software System Validation Architect to design and drive validation strategy of automotive radar systems in a CI/CT environment. Responsibility of the role will include the software and system validation through various project targets of: stage gate quality, traceability and test coverage through the full systems development life cycle and also maintenance releases afterwards.  Role also includes guiding and directing a team of validation engineers, in terms of providing 100% test coverage and a high percentage of test automation, and ensure high quality and on-time releases of software. This is a high visibility job, requires presenting status at various ART (Agile) meetings, senior management meetings and sometimes also to key customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Radar SW System Validation Architect reviews the SW and System requirements and use cases, applies the SMART criteria, works with SW Architect to improve clarity.
  • Develops a Validation/ Test Automation Strategy for new generation Radar products in various configurations (e.g. stand-alone, cascaded, DCR, imaging radar, corner radar).
  • Authors specific test objectives for each of the requirements.
  • Guides a team of validation engineers to author test specifications for those requirements and implement test automation solutions.
  • Research various test equipment’s and infrastructure required for testing Radar systems and recommend CAPEX purchase options along with justification.
  • During execution, the architect ensures full test coverage and quality of the Radar SDK Bundle software against the Quality Criteria for the particular milestone.
  • Writes good quality defects (steps to repro, pre/post conditions, frequency of occurrence etc.), also helps debug software defects raised by the team to root cause.
  • Assist the project manager in creating a work-break down structure for the validation efforts.
  • May also be required to work with customers in the analysis, repro and debug of customer issues.
  • Mentoring validation engineers and growing their competency is a critical aspect of this job.
  • Presenting validation status and details to senior management, business stakeholders and customers.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent and proven experience in Automotive system/software development or validation preferably in a Tier1 or OEM.
  • Demonstrate a strong validation mindset along with a passion for leading teams and driving change.
  • Hands-on expertise writing code in C or C++ in Embedded systems
  • Strong Systems level view, not just at SoC level (e.g. PMIC, Functional Safety, Power Management, CAN, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, Real-Time Drivers, RTOS, IPCF, Boot, security).
  • Good working knowledge of AUTOSAR.
  • Good leadership skills – with good stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Build collaboration and team work across various technology teams.
  • Good analytical and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Preferably - experience presenting to executive sponsors and demonstrated communication skills; both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff, all levels of management.
  • Preferably – good understanding of NCAP scenarios.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor/Master/PhD Degree in Electronics Engineering and/or Computer Science preferably Embedded Systems.
  • 10+ years of Embedded Systems experience writing software (C/C++) and/or validation at a system level.
  • Strong Test Automation experience of Embedded Systems (pass/fail determination).
  • Strong Leadership experience – guiding teams, growing their competencies.
