As an experienced Product Manager, you will join our International VAT compliance team to work with customers, engineering and partners to manage ongoing requirements for Avalara's VAT reporting solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Work with internal and external customers to acquire an understanding of their requirements & our needs (e.g. other PMs, operations, business development, sales, marketing & customer success teams).
- Gain an understanding of customer jobs to be done, identify, and fill product gaps and create new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and achieve growth.
- Create buy-in for the product vision with partners both internally and with important external partners.
- Translate product strategy into detailed requirements. Researching and writing detailed product requirements including user stories for engineering to accomplish.
- Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact.
- Work with engineering teams to convey requirements and follow progress.
What You'll Need to be Successful
- Working knowledge of VAT tax regimes and indirect tax in general.
- Work experience in product management.
- Experience developing product and marketing strategies and communicate recommendations to executive management.
- 3+ years of experience working within Jira Project Management.
- Bachelor's / Masters degree in product management, business administration, computer science, management sciences, or comparable experience.
