As the Strategic Sourcing Manager for Data Centers, you will manage and optimize our colocation strategies while building strong partnerships with internal teams, leading contract negotiations, and overseeing the acquisition of colocation spaces. This role emphasizes strategic sourcing, focusing on areas beyond hardware and network equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Category Management & Contract Execution: Collaborate with internal teams to determine colocation requirements and formulate supplier negotiation strategies. Oversee the complete process from opportunity identification to contract execution.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Develop strategies for colocation suppliers that align with stakeholder needs and maximize value.
  • RFx Management: Be the main point of contact for all RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes. Conduct total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses, present findings, and guide sourcing decisions.
  • Competitive Benchmarking & Market Research: Stay informed about market trends and dynamics to efficiently manage the colocation category, offering insights on potential market changes.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Work with internal teams to monitor and improve sustainability efforts among colocation suppliers, focusing on carbon impact and other environmental concerns.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Evaluate potential suppliers, create sourcing plans and strategies, manage spend analyses, and formulate strategies to lower costs and enhance effectiveness. Track key metrics, manage risks, and ensure timely service delivery.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2-5 years in Strategic Sourcing with a minimum of 2 years in the colocation market. Proficiency in cost modeling, supplier negotiation, and presenting recommendations to leadership is essential.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of purchasing and supply chain processes with an emphasis on results. Familiarity with the colocation landscape is preferred.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Required knowledge of RFP processes and standard sourcing practices.
  • Analytical Abilities: Capable of gathering and analyzing data to make informed decisions. Experience in negotiating large lease contracts and collaborating with legal teams on terms and conditions.
  • Self-Starter: Independent, proactive, and able to juggle multiple projects efficiently.
