Key Responsibilities

  • Job Costing and Control:
    • Track and analyze costs related to solar and renewable energy projects, including labor, materials, and overhead.
    • Prepare and maintain detailed cost reports and forecasts.
    • Monitor project budgets and expenditures, addressing variances as needed.
    • Collaborate with project managers and departments to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting.
  • Cost Analysis and Optimization:
    • Analyze cost data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost reduction.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to enhance cost management and project profitability.
    • Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare financial statements and reports on project performance and profitability.
    • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Accounts Receivable:
    • Manage contract billing schedules, ensuring compliance with project contracts and payment terms.
    • Prepare and issue invoices in line with contractual terms and milestones.
    • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports, follow up on overdue invoices, and manage payment disputes.
    • Maintain accurate records of all accounts receivable transactions.
  • General Accounting Support:
    • Assist with budgeting and forecasting specific to renewable energy projects.
    • Collaborate with auditors during audits related to solar and renewable energy projects.
    • Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.
  • Software Utilization:
    • Utilize QuickBooks for day-to-day accounting tasks, including invoicing, expense tracking, and financial reporting.
Requirements

  • Passion for sustainability and the renewable energy industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MS or MBA preferred).
  • 3+ years of related experience, with a focus on job costing, project accounting, and accounts receivable in the EPC, solar, or renewable energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and/or Construction ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
  • Accounting certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to work onsite in Ballston Spa, NY, Monday-Friday.
  • Unrestricted work authorization for the US and high proficiency in English.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of \(70,000 - \)90,000, plus a discretionary bonus based on performance.
