Part of the Legal team, you are the driving force behind ensuring that the organization continues to do the right thing. With a strong expertise in law and ethics, you are responsible for researching and guarding the business against legal risks and maintaining a culture of compliance. Your team will develop company policies and represent the company in potential legal proceedings. Your team will provide legal advice to ensure the legality of commercial transactions for the organization.

Responsabilidades

Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, Americas, this individual will help lead the fulfillment of general compliance program activities, driving both global and regional compliance agendas, throughout LATAM.

  • Provide support for the global and regional compliance requirements with day to day management and execution of compliance efforts throughout LATAM
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory framework in countries throughout LATAM, the LIXIL Code of Conduct and internal policies and procedures
  • Champion a culture of compliance and integrity primarily focused on our Mexico operations, including planning and executing compliance events, developing communications and other promotional material
  • Assist in communicating on behalf of the company before LATAM governmental agencies
  • Make recommendations for the development and maintenance of LATAM policies and procedures, staying attuned to the business and its operations and identifying areas of risk
  • Assist in the development and delivery of compliance training of employees and leadership team, preparing dept. specific training material
  • Provide counsel, education and interpretation of regulatory requirements to local leadership
  • Manage and report on internal investigations arising out of the LATAM business to ensure appropriate escalation, execution of investigative tasks, conclusions, root cause analysis and remedial actions across investigators and subject matter experts.
  • Partner with the various functions and lines of business in order to design and implement compliance required processes and controls
  • Participate in formal and informal meetings with senior management, counsels, outside accountants and consultants to gather information and discuss findings on various compliance and general legal matters
  • Provide assistance in third party risk management activities and conduct due diligence procedures
  • Execute compliance related risk assessments and develop and track progression of action plans across the business
  • Carry out compliance audits with process owners overseeing findings and remediation
  • Assist in the research of applicable compliance and legal requirements to maintain an advanced level of knowledge of current compliance laws, regulations and best practices
  • Prepare local communications on key compliance processes, trends and current topics
  • Liaise with external consultants on legal and compliance related matters that arise in the business and communicate internally as needed

Requisitios

  • Licensed Mexican lawyer, in good standing
  • Min. 3-5 years legal experience
  • U.S. training/education/professional experience with a U.S. company preferred
  • Knowledge of compliance programs or prior compliance work experience required
  • Up to 50% domestic travel required
  • English and Spanish language skills
