Your Role:

The Chief of Staff at Alpaca helps to shape the company’s growth through strategic initiatives around culture, productivity, and operations. Reporting to the SVP of Strategy, you will partner with the executive team and other leaders to align on priorities, surface risks, identify growth opportunities, and execute on key priorities. This is a critical role in supporting the company’s growth, and an opportunity for you to drive material impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive corporate alignment and operational excellence by implementing policies and procedures around culture, hiring, collaboration, learning, and compensation.
  • Foster a culture of learning and accountability by developing learning programs, instituting best practices, and tracking progress on OKRs.
  • Facilitate effective communication across the organization through all-hands and other channels on matters of corporate strategy, culture, and departmental updates. 
  • Lead and manage cross-functional projects to deliver results for key initiatives by collaborating with stakeholders and proactive project management.
  • Analyze operational data to surface insights and recommendations for the leadership team to make sound decisions.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for the company, leadership, and the Board of Directors as needed.
  • Ad-hoc duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Who You Are (Must-Haves):
  • Curious and capable of learning complex systems/constructs through research, data, and observation.
  • Ability to analyze, model scenarios, and synthesize data to draw insights, learning, and conclusions.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, clarity in approach, and ability to get into the details.
  • Experience working in software companies with knowledge of business functions, operating models, organization design, and business drivers.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with stellar presentation skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and up / down the ranks to align with stakeholders and drive outcomes. 
  • Meticulous with program management to drive accountability, with a penchant for prioritization.
  • Experience in capital markets, management consulting, investment banking, or advanced degree in business (MBA).
  • Strong business acumen and financial literacy.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, with the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.
 Who You Might Be (Nice-to-Haves):
  • FinTech experience is a plus, especially with broker dealer business.
  • Startup experience and mindset for a fast paced, high growth environment.
  • Comfort working with lots of data via SQL. Advanced analytics is a plus.
  • US hours preferred.
