Home Instead Truro has been looking after clients in Cornwall for over 14 years and has earned an excellent reputation for providing companionship-based care in people's own homes. Whilst the office is locally owned, we also benefit from being part of the UK’s leading provider of non-medical care and companionship services for older people.

We are looking for kind, caring and compassionate people who enjoy spending time and helping older people. Each visit is at least an hour and you will be matched with a small number of regular clients so you can really focus on getting to know them.

Job Description

Being a Home Instead carer is a highly rewarding career where no two days are the same! With minimum 1 hour care visits, client introductions and client matching, you have the time to provide high quality, person-focused care.

Your duties can include:

  • Companionship - ensuring our clients enjoy regular and meaningful social interaction is an important part of your visit. 

  • Home Help - helping with everyday tasks such as shopping, meal preparation, light housework and accompanying clients to appointments and activities 

  • Personal care - supporting our clients with the essentials such as bathing, showering, dressing and grooming to keep them healthy and independent.

Qualifications

You will need to be caring, compassionate and dependable. 

  • You will be required to work some evenings, plus every other weekend. We will then aim to to build a schedule that works for you and for us.

THIS ROLE REQUIRES THAT THE APPLICANT:

  • RESIDES IN THE UK AND HAS THE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK
  • HAS A VALID DRIVING LICENCE AND ACCESS TO RELIABLE TRANSPORT.
