Bid Manager
     EU/UK Home office based with occasional travel to office in France
     Excellent salary, benefits, and annual bonus

What is the purpose of the role?
As our Bid Manager, you will be developing  large and complex proposals.
You will be responsible for managing and overseeing opportunities from qualification through to contract award. You will be involved in value proposition, strategy development, solution development, commercial considerations, partner identification and risk management. 

What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Work with the Sales team to develop a strategy to win the bid
  • Build the plan and ensure resources are allocated from support functions
  • Ensure alignment of the team
  • Review specifications to understand the project requirements 
  • Create the proposal and supporting documentation 
  • Drive the team through the negotiation steps 
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team including Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Sourcing, Finance, Tax and Legal 
  • Ensure a winning culture and a clear sense of accountability are generated within the team 
  • Follow the commercial WIN! Process 
  • Gain approvals at the right levels for cost, margin, T&C etc prior to bid submission
  • Development and consolidation of budget using the relevant Costing tool
  • Work with the Contracts Team for review of Commercial Terms & Conditions
  • Communicate with Customers during the different steps of the commercial development
  • Ensure all proposal records, Salesforce, etc, are completed and updated 
  • Facilitate and communicate Lessons Learned to improve quality in future proposals.


 

Qualifications

What skills and background will you likely have?

  • Time served in similar role OR a masters degree in engineering 
  • Solid relevant experience in sales and commercial positions
  • Bid/Proposal Management experience in international industrial and municipal B2B transactions, ideally  with a heavy technology or services component. 
  • Knowledge of the water and wastewater industry and its relevant technologies (MBR, UF, EDR, RO, ZLD) 
  • Knowledge of international contracting practices in industrial and municipal transactions 
  • Fluent in English and able to present complex cases with ease in English 
  • Availability to travel on business as required
  • Good business acumen and executive presence
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver results against demanding customer-driven deadlines. 
  • Proactive, action oriented and used to working against financial targets
