Credentialing Manager


Location: Fully Remote

Schedule: Monday - Friday, Eastern Time

Pay Range: $5.00 - $7.00 /hour

Benefits: Paid Time Off (PTO)

Job Summary

The Credentialing Manager oversees the credentialing process for all healthcare providers within Nao Medical’s clinics. This role ensures that all providers are properly credentialed with accepted insurance companies. We are looking for a driven Credentialing Manager to lead a small team of credentialing specialists and coordinate efficiently with various departments to maintain compliance and streamline the credentialing process.

Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Director of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and oversees 2-4 credentialing specialists.

Primary Responsibilities
Team Management:
  • Supervise and lead a team of 2-4 credentialing specialists.

  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training and support.

  • Conduct regular team meetings to ensure effective communication and workflow.

Credentialing Process Oversight:
  • Manage the end-to-end credentialing process for all healthcare providers.

  • Ensure timely submission and follow-up of credentialing applications with insurance payers.

  • Maintain up-to-date records of provider credentials, including licenses, certifications, and insurance contracts.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure all credentialing activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines.

  • Stay updated with changes in credentialing requirements and insurance policies.

Coordination and Communication:
  • Coordinate with providers, insurance companies, and internal departments to resolve credentialing issues.

  • Communicate credentialing status and updates to relevant stakeholders.

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the credentialing process.

Data Management and Reporting:
  • Generate and analyze reports on credentialing status, timelines, and compliance.

  • Provide regular updates to senior management on credentialing metrics and progress.


Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field.

  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) is preferred, but not required.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in healthcare credentialing.

  • At least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.

  • Experience in the NY region and urgent care credentialing preferred.

Schedule Requirements:
  • Ability to work night shifts during Eastern Time, from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday

Technical Requirements:

Candidates must provide their equipment and technology meeting these minimum specifications:

  • Up-to-date desktop or laptop computer with at least 8GB of RAM and a modern processor (Intel i5 or equivalent).

  • Windows 10 or macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later.

  • High-speed internet connection with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps.

  • Functional headset with microphone, webcam, and reliable keyboard and mouse.

  • Quiet workspace devoid of distractions.

  • A second monitor is preferred, but not required.

  • Emergency backup or contingency plan for technology or connectivity issues.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of processes and requirements (PECOS, Medicaid, CAQH, insurance applications), with the ability to adapt to changing regulations.

  • Skilled in delegation, training, and team improvement, with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Proactive, goal-oriented approach with the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain high standards of integrity and reliability.

  • Proficient in virtual workspaces, with exceptional organizational and time management skills to improve efficiency.

  • Committed to accuracy and compliance, able to handle confidential information discreetly and work effectively under pressure.
