Overview

The Chief Risk Office function has Group-wide responsibility for the management and control of all credit, market, operational, enterprise and liquidity risks and has the responsibility of continual development of methods for risk measurement, frameworks and creating a bank wide strong risk culture. 

Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) is a department within the Risk Division. As a Second Line of Defense function, NFRM is responsible for oversight across all aspects of non-financial risk (NFR), including risk identification and assessment, control framework, risk appetite and scenario analysis.

The role will sit within the newly formed New Business Office, whose core mandate is to govern the risk identification, analysis, management, and approval relating to new business including new products, initiatives, and major change projects within the Bank.

What You’ll Do

  • Leading in the Americas all matters relating to the approval of new business, including new products, initiatives, and change programs

  • Leading and managing Post Implementation Reviews

  • Partnering with all businesses to understand the strategic pipeline to ensure appropriate risk assessments and approvals are conducted ahead of Go-Live, to include designing processes to capture and report the pipeline

  • Working with senior business management to ensure the correct level of scrutiny is achieved depending on risk profile impact

  • Acting as Secretary to the Americas New Product Council and escalate matters as required

  • Partnering directly with the Head of NBO, AI, and Digital Assets Framework, Regulatory & Audit where required

How You’ll Lead

  • Partnering with the Head of the Controls Execution Office on items relating to the Product Lifecycle and New Product Approval Tool

  • Engaging with Regulators and Audit as required

  • Managing a team based in New York

Skills You’ll Need

  • Extensive experience in business, finance, risk management, consulting, or similar role within financial services

  • Comprehensive understanding of the transactions and financials products offered by a Tier 1 investment bank as well as the supporting infrastructure and controls

  • Experience working with senior stakeholders within a high-pressure dynamic environment and be willing to challenge as required

  • Ability to proactively work across a diverse group of stakeholders within a complex organization and to quickly develop strong working relationships with a broad range of functions

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Play a supporting role in a period of significant change for this function and therefore past experience with change projects is desirable

  • Experience managing a team

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $125,000 to $203,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
